Thyrlos - you are a tried and true die hard Twins fan. You have hard lines that can never be breached. It is War, it is never pretty, and it is unacceptable to cheer for the opposition no matter who it is. The mentality is to kill and destroy your opposition. For the most part I agree and like your method of madness. First and foremost I am a fan of Major League Baseball and it is very rare you come across the likes of a humble country fella who seems to be the nicest guy in baseball and has endeared himself to the baseball community country wide and certainly to the Twins Community. Thome is an anomaly, we might never see such a beloved baseball presence again, an individual who can breach the hard line of a baseball rivalry. My take is that you should cut some people some slack for cheering for him and his success against OUR team. Although Thome is more of a Twin Killer than a Twin - he was our most crucial offensive player in 2010 and hit some of the most monolithic HRs I have ever seen as a Twins fan. His HR against the Sux in August, 2010 has got to be one of the 5 greatest HRs in Twins History.

These are the times when I like to be wrong. Maybe my hopeful prediction is still sea worthy!

I have heard he was hit in the jaw/mouth area. Is that correct?

I agree. Plouffe has had a meteoric rise the last few weeks. As you pretty much said - I am sure there will be some ups and downs throughout this season for both, but I still think/hope they will both be around .250 at the end of this race. Plouffe has been something else offensively and he has done well at third also. It will be interesting at the end of the season to see what his stats are. I'd definitely have to say 20HRs are in play big time... hopefully more.

Since the last time I posted an update, Rosario has been fairly hot at the plate and his defensive statistics have been improving, which in turn makes you believe his transition from OF to 2B is going swimmingly. Unfortunately as everyone probably knows - Rosario took a line-drive to the face yesterday in BP and sustained some injuries that will probably keep him out of action for a month or more. I 100% agree with your Kubel theory and the fact that it has psychologically messed with the heads of a few other Twins in the power category. Willingham and Plouffe have been a delight to say the least!

Word up Glunn! Sorry, I have been a bit busy with some things and have been missing. Changing June to Plouffe makes total sense... especially because Plouffe's B-Day is on Friday... Plouffe 15th... that is also my day of birth. If things keep going the way they are we might have a few cities named Plouffeapolis and St. Plouffe... "The Plouffe Cities".

I am not sure about the Cuddy comparison, but it is damn clear that Target field does not intimidate Willingham or Plouffe power wise.

It seems that Plouffetism has some legitimacy.

True Dat. Recently I have been liking our 1 & 2 spots in the order, very, very much. They are definitely swinging the sticks well. This offense seemingly has their engines running. Except for the hick-up here or there (like Sunday's game). Swing away Merrill!

1. I guess all I can add is that 19 error free games must represent some level of progress and success. Although Rosario is my adopt-a-prospect, I don't get to see him play or have an insider who can give me the run down. It appears he is making good progress and hopefully soon it can be determined that it is not an experiment and the cemented plan of the future. 2. To say Rosario has outperformed Sano might be a bit exaggerated, but Rosario's hitting for a respectable Avg. and showing some power while taking some BB and not striking out too much. He definitely need to work on his ability to steal a base: 9 SB's in 19 attempts is obviously not so good. 3. I would imagine every GM in baseball is strongly aware of Rosario's rising star. Right now his national perception is probably not the highest, but I imagine that will change in the near future. PS: I must apologize for not giving an update on Rosario more recently. It seems as I have lost track of time and as we all know life gets busy. I'll do that in the next day or 2 or sooner.

Obviously the Bambino would be far and away #1. I agree, that would be a fun list.

Good call on Wes. I knew he was a fairly decent pitcher in the 30's, but no clue on his batting. After checking out his lifetime hitting stats I imagine he has to be one of the better hitting pitchers of all time.

Besides Campy being omitted, you would think that Gabby Hartnett would at least trump Rick Ferrell. They played during the same time and Hartnett was essentially the first power hitting catcher.

It seems that NBS Sports dropped the ball on this one. Campanella in my opinion is better than at least a few on their list.

Has anybody heard or read any rumblings as to how long it will take the Twins to sign Byron Buxton and the amount of moola it will cost?
