  1. It's really frustrating to see $300 million just flail away.
  2. I remember in high school, we had a catcher who caught with one knee on the ground. Our baseball coach told him him, he was lazy. "No coach, I'm not lazy, it's just a better way for me to get down and block pitches". So, our coach say, " Not lazy huh? Give me 20 laps around the field."
  3. It's on Turner Movie classics. I, too, saw Piersall as a player. Seemed to have been on track, the last 7 or 8 years of his career.
  4. I watched the movie 'Fear Strikes Out' last night. That movie made me sure I never treated my kids, with the same pressures of life inflicted on Piersall. I lucked out, by having good, successful kids.
  5. I'm sure you'd be more interested and productive in doing things around the house, like dusting chandeliers.
  6. I think smalley is right, when he mentions that ryan is not getting hitters to chase the high fastball. His slider isn't getting a sharp break, either. 92-94 mph fastballs don't cut it, especially when they're within the heart of the zone.
  7. The vindictive part of me, says let ryan go as long as possible. I don't care if it blows up his ERA and other stats. The young man has to learn, he's not just a fastball pitcher.
  8. According to Smalley, "They can really hit".
  9. Adjustments-adjustments-adjustments..SMH
  10. The more I see of Ryan, the less I want to see of Ryan.
  11. A win is a win. Can't be too picky, at this point.
  12. Exactly. These were easily attainable additions, yet we waited and waited until they were gone.
  13. Another smart move was letting Minnesota hire Falvey. They knew what Falvey was all about.
  14. At least falvey has a career in politics at his disposal, when he eventually gets canned from baseball.
  15. Buckle your seat> It's going to be a bumpy ride in the ninth.
  16. Gallo, now Jeffers, two guys who can't see on this club.
  17. Amateurs don't get paid $11 million. Not that he deserves that.
  18. Well we got two full months of top notch mediocrity, coming up.
  19. Even if you believe the current collection of talent can win the division title, you can't possibly believe they could muster anything in the playoffs. At the very least, they should have tried to shore up some areas, for a possible post season.
