It says a lot about this team that no one posted about it. More of the same in Twins Territory: empty statements, unfulfilled promises. Why *should* anyone care about this presser? -
Funny you ask because in the latest Gleeman and the Geek Patreon episode, Aaron said what I said almost verbatim. I don’t have a direct source, but it’s widely understood that Baldelli wasn’t making that kind of decision given how the entire organization is structured.

Baldelli didn't choose his coaching staff, that's yet another mark against the front office.

Falvey hasn't been good, either. But he built a $160m payroll team that was slashed back to $130m the moment they had some success. It's hard to maintain a winner when you lose $30m in free agent money right in the middle of your big contention play. Now, Falvey also pivoted *horribly* when this happened (he didn't really do anything, like at all), but the initial problem comes from the top. I suspect the Twins, a very middle-of-the-road market, is going to have a much smaller payroll than Milwaukee next season, and that's embarrassing for the Twins. Fans shouldn't tolerate that kind of bottom-of-the-barrel ownership, they deserve better.

Twins Daily was first. The other sites were mostly founded because there was an existing community that existed. The only exception is the Padres, which I started from scratch because I lived in San Diego for almost a decade and like the Pads. -
We run seven baseball sites. Six of them were fine, only Twins Daily went down and stayed down. Even the server is sick and tired of this team.

The Guardians are on the fringes of contention, wouldn't that be a shame if the Twins decided to finally win a series.

The absolute best solution is more equitable revenue sharing, yes. 100% agreement. I don't think it needs to be entirely fair, I'm fine if the Dodgers and Yankees get more. They're more popular, it's better for the sport if they have a leg up on others. But things are dire when the Dodgers are getting $250m from television and the Padres are literally getting around $15m. They play in the same division. That's untenable.

The owners aren't going to get a salary cap unless they're ready to give up a loottttttt of concessions. Which, given the general bastard nature of baseball owners, likely won't happen. But I think the players would agree to a salary cap if the following criteria is met: 1. A salary floor accompanies the cap, and a high floor, like $130m. 2. Both the cap and floor are tied to revenue as a percentage, around 50%. 3. Young players either make a lot more money (such as arbitration after year one) or reach free agency earlier. Do those things, and I think the players would accept a salary cap. The problem there is that the owners absolutely will not agree to those things, as the players make more money under that arrangement, probably a lot more.
