1. Think about a Sweep... The Twins could sweep the series and leave happy as they head to Seattle.

 

2. Think about Chris Herrman... A Grand Slam... How happy is he today. Only in the lineup because Joe's wife has a poor sense of timing.

 

3. Think about Ryan Doumit... He wasn't hitting all that well and I told him to knock it off yesterday... He listened.

 

4. Think about Mike Pelfrey... He's been pitching nicely of late... If he continues doing that... We could sweep.

 

5. Think about addresses... I was looking for an address last night... When I got to the block and I was trying to read the house numbers for the correct address... I turned the radio down... Why did I do that?

Maybe this lineup is the secret to creating runs. fill it full of players you would never expect to be starting in the ML and boom, offensive explosion and "swagger." It's that kind of crazy thinking that will turn this team around!

Is it just me or does anyone else not get the philosophy of having Bernier play? We already have an old player that plays well defensively. If we are bringing up old players then we should have brought up Richardson and seen what he could do as a back up. I understand the Calebello move. We can show off if he has any value before the trade deadline and see if he can be a future DH until prospects come up. Any other thoughts?

I think, next year, Bernier could assume the role that Carroll occupies currently. A veteran on the bench that can play any infield position but does not need regular playing time and is also content to just sit on the bench and not wine about playing time.

I don't know about that. Roenicke spiked a fastball about 15 ft in front of home plate in the 10th last night. That was about the worst I've ever seen.

That sounds about right. Weaver gets by on extreme rise with his fastball and extreme crossfire action combined with extreme extension and some pretty nasty breaking stuff too. Interesting formula, really.

If Colabello wants to even hit .200 in the MLB, he has to move closer to the plate. He stands so far back from the plate that he can't even reach pitches right down the middle, not to mention on the outside corner. It's ridiculous to me.

I know Colabello is a AAA god this year, but when he bats up here he just looks like he has no chance. I'm glad he's getting a chance so we can see what he has, but right now he's sure not looking like the power RH bat we need off the bench.

Very nice inning for Pelfrey. If, and that's a big if, he can keep improving, I hope he gives the Twins first chance at signing him for next year.
