Nice clutch strikeout of Kinsler. Now to face Andrus - can't walk him to load the bases for Hamilton, so this will be a great test.

I've been impressed with Deduno. Started two DP's and making a play at the plate. Only giving up two runs through 5 innings against the rangers, that is a minnesota quality start.

Man, Twins have gotta be pulling their hair out about Hendriks - pitched 7 scoreless innings for Rochester tonight, gave up 5 hits, got the win.

Why can't he do that when he's up here?

Why Gardy, why!?!?

I agree, he only gave up 3 runs. Compared to what we have seen so far in 2012, that could be one of the top 20 performances by any of our starters this year.

Late post...but IMO the bottom of the 5th is a perfect example of why sacrifice bunting is so rarely good strategy. Wobbling pitcher on the mound, and you intentionally make an out. One strikeout later, and you're almost out of the inning.

He would if they would keep him in MN long enough to do it. Just like any player, you have to let them get comfortable.

Yup, they did him a favor by giving him an out.

Big difference between AAA hitters and major league hitters. Hopefully he will eventually be able to make the adjustments needed to get them out consistently.

I agree, but I also wonder if some of it is mental - he may be more tense when in the majors, knowing he has to be more careful and more precise in his pitching. He knows he can pitch in AAA; he may feel less pressure there and be able to pitch more relaxed.

Robertson against Hamilton? Then again, I don't like anyone against Hamilton except for Perkins and he took Perkins deep earlier this year at Target Field. Throw a good pitch and hope for the best, I guess.

Robertson vs Hamilton...what could go wrong?

I like Burnett vs. Beltre better anyway.

Could have been worse. He could have thrown him a strike and it could have gone a long way. Not sure if I like Burnett against Beltre any better.

Robertson vs. Hamilton. Because Robertson vs. Fielder went so well the other day.

Before that Filder at bat, Robertson had looked awfully good, especially against LHs. I still feel awfully good about him in there.

Gardy sure must think so too if he put him in there with the tie game and hamilton up.
