LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Nice framing by the As catcher.Do you mean the magic trick where he made the baseball disappear and a runner appear at third? Suzuki smells another one. Maybe no extra innings after all.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Zuke delivers. If he keeps this up, I might not regret him signing an extension.
alskntwnsfn Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Great plan. Crush a hanger off the wall. #strategy
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Perkins has not pitched in this series. It might make sense to ask him for 2 innings today?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Zuke delivers. If he keeps this up, I might not regret him signing an extension.Might want to put it on your 'to do' list for 2016, though...
alskntwnsfn Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I thought Vargas was going to get that curve. Bummer.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Hammer got most'a that'n.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Perkins has not pitched in this series. It might make sense to ask him for 2 innings today?Perkins hasn't been that sharp going one inning lately. I don't think it makes sense for him to go two.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 That might help Hammer's return value.
alskntwnsfn Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 If it was 2-1 maybe have perk go 2 but might as well bring in fien now.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Perkins has not pitched in this series. It might make sense to ask him for 2 innings today? They've stopped using him for more than one inning. He's gotten more than three outs one time this year; four outs back in May vs. Detroit.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 The As announcers said that Hammer has 8 HR in 18 games against the As. Someone should be calling the Angels and Tigers tomorrow to make sure that they are aware of this stat.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Y'know, that is why you don't give away outs. Good teams pick up for guys when they don't deliver with runners on. I have been thinking, should we be happy with a lead and of course Willingham gives the Twins a nice three-run cushion with two innings left to pitch. If a team is playing for and satisfied with one run, they are going to have plenty of close games and will lose a few late. Perkins has been great, but he is human. If he's always protecting a one-run lead, there is no margin for error.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Willingham Swan Song HR?I sure hope so!
alskntwnsfn Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 So they moved Jesse Chavez to the bullpen? Must be nice being able kick a sub 3.50 era out of the rotation.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I wish that it was Perkins facing Fuld right now.
alskntwnsfn Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Hammer for Cron? Probably not but maybe.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Don't know how this will end, of course, but it's nice to see the Washington Generals taking it to Meadowlark Lemon today.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 So they moved Jesse Chavez to the bullpen? Must be nice being able kick a sub 3.50 era out of the rotation. They sent a 3.55 ERA to the minors and traded him for a fourth OF that they had DFAed in May.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Anybody else feel a three-run bomb coming?
alskntwnsfn Verified Member Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 They sent a 3.55 ERA to the minors and traded him for a fourth OF that they had DFAed in May.True. Good point.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 We have the lead after a full inning!!1! http://media.philly.com/images/600*450/20100923_inq_lowoutside23-a.JPG
