I like good baseball, Brian Dozier is good baseball.

Gotta agree. Smooth fielder... Nice arm... Calm pro at bats. He can stay.

Axford looks like he should be taking the mound with a bag of Redman in his pocket and a 6 pack of the Beast. Wish we had him

This was part of my disagreement about Mauer's presence behind the plate with Alex in another thread. Mauer is 5 for 9 lifetime against RHP Gallardo coming off a game where he showed confident agressiveness at the plate, getting three hits on pitches out of the strike zone. Every pitcher on the team should have complete confidence in having The Face of the Franchise calling the game for them as the backstop. Hopefully mnfireman is right and Mauer gets the chance to build on his slump-busting performance last night and enter the game in the 5th or 6th.

Just because more people post it on the Internet doesn't make your argument about the pitcher's trust in Mauer real. Find real evidence please. Pavano and Butera do seem to work together, and that's fine, and Joe has probably been due for a day off.

Well we wasted that inning. Not entirely the Twins fault. This ump is mighty inconsistent in his strike zone tonight.

---Yeah, Davidson has been all over the place. And it's Wendelstehdt behind the plate tomorrow, so the shape of the strike zone should get even more interesting.

Can't believe they have those 2 on the same crew. They might as well have rounded it out with Angel Hernandez and Todd Tichenor (or maybe Brian Runge) for a full crew of incompetent umpires who think they are God's gift to baseball and that the thousands of people in the stands paid to watch them call the game.

Riverbrian, who do you see the Twins drafting and who do you want them to draft?

Honestly I don't know a lot about the players. Baseball outside of MLB doesn't get enough press to get a good gauge on who the best is. Hell... Even seasoned scouts struggle at the task.

With the #2 pick... They can go BPA but that BPA better be leaps and bounds better then the top college arm available cuz we have an extroidanary need for frontline pitching at the upper levels. We can complain about not having a #1 or #2 starter. Well this should be the chance to get one for down the line. So if it was me... I'd take Zimmer. From what I've read and not seen. He sounds the most exciting.

I pray the draft team is focused and nails this draft... It's important.

Plouffe hit that one to Beloit. Plouffe and Beloit are both sounds made by dropping a nickel in the toilet.

I love that joke... Gonna keep typing it til someone says... LMAO.

Ever since Plouffe shaved his head he has been crushing the ball!

Sort of. He's still got an OPS in the .500s and is King more. I love that he's getting a chance to play everyday so the Twins can make a decent evaluation of him, but he's not really gotten better so far.

3 homers for plouffe in 4 games? That is my count.

YES but he usually follows it with an 0-4. If we can get some consistency from him he'd be a valuable hitter cuz kid got power!

He wasa getting a day off this weekend anyway..why not a day game after night??? Plus Butera and Pavario work well together, not that big a deal. I doubt a day off will throw off any timing Joe found yesterday to any substantial degree. Oh and Drew with another 2 hits today.
