    I am certainly concerned about his hitting. Way too many strikeouts and swinging at bad pitchers plus he has hit into several bad double plays. I do not know if he is trying too hard or if he will start hitting better soon. The Twins invested so much money in him so it will be a major problem if he doesn't start getting big hits soon.

    I was not a fan of signing him to a big contract since we have some good young SS coming up. The Twins need him to start hitting.  I just do not understand why Rocco keeps batting him at the top of lineup when Correa is hitting about .200. In several games Correa has left 4 or more runners on base since he is just not hitting. To have a number 3 batter hitting .200 is just not a good idea.

    (1) Misleading to even consider Correa's (or any player's) offense for just 1/6 (one-sixth) of a season.
    (2) If you insist on looking at that inappropriately small sample size, you also see that he has the highest fielding pct. among all qualifying SS in MLB, and if you really know baseball, you know that titles are won with pitching & defense, not with offense.

    Yes, but so far he's contributed about 1/8 of a season's worth of offense (Total Bases as just one measure).

    Agreed on small sample size. Not sure I agree with the pitching and defense winning titles. To your point, you must have good run prevention in order to Win a World Series. But run prevention alone frequently ends with a team below .500 record.

    Looking at the last 5 years, Dodgers and Astros have been most frequently deep in the post season, winning World Series, and having some of the best run prevention in baseball. They also scored a ton of runs!

    It’s differential that matters. Teams that score more runs than their opponents win more. A team that gives up 162 runs in a season can still go under .500 if they also don’t score any runs, just the same as if they score 900 runs but give up 2000.
