    so they took them cause the have mess mileage so they would be healthier? that has worked out. i just wonder why they keep guys around the scouting department who have failed more the every other team in drafting pitching since 2006 they have drafted 37 pitchers in the first 5 rounds they have only 3 successes so far and that's including kyle gibson. tyler duffy and jose berios being the other 2

    then what is the point of taking college relievers so early in the draft? so they spent about 1/3rd of the picks in the first 5 rounds of drafts since 2012 taking college relievers who they do not think will make it to the majors fast instead of taking starters who they can develop and they could move them to the pen if that fails.

    that is what happens when you take the "safer" picks the first 5 rounds with college relievers over the last 5 years they took a lot of them: Luke Bard, Mason Melotakis, J.T. Chargois, Zack Jones, Ryan Eades, Nick Burdi, Michael Cederoth, Sam Clay, Jake Reed, Alex Robinson, Griffin Jax and Tom Hackimer ( ithink most of them when straight to relievers or made a couple starts then put in the pen. eades might have been a starter for a bit but idk) and they have not even hit on any of those Fast to the major guys for the bullpen

    yea i agree a weak system most of the talent is either high upside young guys that have a lot to prove an long way to go or defensive replacements, bullpen arms or number 4 starters

    1. Gordon 2. Lewis 3. Romero 4. Gonsalves 5. Kirilloff 6. Diaz (6-8 i feel are all interchangeable i put diaz first because he has more experience) 7. Enlow 8. Javier 9. Wade (big fan of his crazy walk rates and low strikeout rates its why i have him ahead of rooker) 10. Rooker 11. Blackenhorn 12. Graver 13. Granite 14. Jorge 15. Palacios 16. Leach 17. Graterol 18. Thorpe 19. Arraez 20. Jay then the 20s are filled with bullpen arms

    what about laMonte wade? showing a great eye at the plate with a 13% k rate and 18% walk rate and the redwings outfield is not very deep

    you have a relief pitcher, a number 5 starter and adam brett walker 2.0 in your top ten. Talk about a very weak farm system.i personally have jay and palka outside the top 15 ill take guy like wade garver blankenhorn enlow rooker granite leach all have more upside and or are more proven

    with the 3 infielders taken this draft early does that mean javier skipping right to elizabethton and Miranda going there too?

    Very excited to see that bechtold and de la torre. They are my two favorite picks from this draft. Lots of potential and could be the steals of the draft

    you dont draft out of depth or need you try to get players who you see as major leagues assets. just look at the cubs they had Javier Baez, Addison Russell, and Gleyber Torres all in the minior at the same time. look at the braves this year they have there 3 tops prospects all short stops and they are all ranked in the top 10 short stop prospects in baseball. and look at the astros they took correa 1-1 then 3 years later they to alex bregman with the second pick in the draft 1-2

    We need pitching in the system but bats seem to have a much better success rate early in the draft id like to see a bat at 35 or 37 maybe one of the SS like allen(if there), downs, mcconnell, or the of Ramos(if there) or 1b like rooker or evan white ( of he is there, a plus defender plus arm plus speed with a future above average to plus hit tool)

    who are the potential 2-3s? berrios is considered a 2-3 from every major prospect site. mejia is more like a number 4 but if he reached his 90 percentile he might be a number 3, gonsalves is a number 3 at best. romero has a long ways to go but he is the only one with the stuff to consider front end guy that has played in the US.

    wow 5-40 not much starting pitching that excites you at all just a bunch of 4-5 starters at best besides like a graterol or ynoa but they are in rookie ball 5 plus years away. hopefully they can get some higher end pitching in this draft and by trading guys like santana dozier and kintzler

    Seems like most of the twins bats are in extended spring training or low A. Maybe not as gifted as this last group of players to reach the bigs but it seems to have a lot more depth

    Am i dreaming but is there a shot at both Schmidt and Romero at 35 and 37? It would make it easier taking on the risk or taking Greene over Wright.

    green has ace potential but the odds he gets to that potential is maybe 25% at best. wright has number 2 maybe number 1 potential the the odd he reaches that make are maybe 50%. if wright by taking wright saves you say a million you can use that on pick 35 and try to get a high upside hs pitcher by giving 3 mil to a guy like carlson, Romero, Enlow, Little if they fall far enough.

    is it just me is there a big lack of production from early round draft picks threw out the organization? i mean they are getting a ton of production from international free agents and 9th round or later daft picks.

    yea i dont see Palka getting much playing time he is kinda buried. at DH Grossman, Vargas, and Park all ahead of him. and at OF Grossman and Granite i think are ahead of them based on what this front office thinks of high power high strike out guys. id give it to a pitcher like Mejia or Chargois

    i think i would rather go with twins AAA bullpen with Chargois, Melotakis, Reed and Wimmers or even the twins AA bullpen with Burdi, Hildenberger, Jay, Rosario, Peterson, Jones and Bard then what the twins are going out there with. Kintzler, Breslow, and Belisle all 1 year guys haley is a ? tonkin just a place holder the only 2 with any value after this year are rogers and pressly

    high upside revilers like Burdi, Chargois, Jay, Melotakis, Reed, Rosario all in double and triple im not to worried about the pen to much cause the had so mant options they can call up and go with

    VERY disappointing but between AAA and AA the twins have a lot of power relievers something they have never really had and we see how important the bullpen is becoming. with jay, melotakis, rosario, burdi, chargois, and reed all sit in the upper 90s and some hitting 100 will be nice to see in the next year and a half or so. burdi, chargois and jay all have the potential to be closers. and they also have guys in the upper minors who have just been putting up good number with less stuff guys like hildenberger, jones, and peterson
