    the more prospects (depth) the better chance more of them will pan out and become usable pieces to allow trading top tier guys or themselves I have no earthly way of predicting or knowing if a 19 year old short fast CF will turn into an All-Star Gold-Glover...but if there are 3 like that the chances are better one of them will be worth something in the future Who know's...maybe Jhoan is Jeter's favorite 3rd cousin and he's the piece that lands Realmoto...or the next piece the Twins need simple post...having more possible prospects increases the chance one of them turn out to be decent/good/great

    More on Blaze Alexander from mlb pipeline "Clearly the D-backs feel good about Alexander being able to continue to hit and become an all-around shortstop, even if it takes a while.
