    Not as often as they say very little when they know that their opinion will be thrown back in their face if nobody agrees with it. A Yankee Manager who the Yankee fans don't trust is not long for that job. Deceit in public view is toxic!

    Key phrase:"as far as I'm concerned" And that is fine, but I believe Joe Girardi when he says that Murphy will be an MLB catcher. Girardi was a professional catcher for 18 years and an MLB catcher for 15 years who knows enough baseball to become manager of the #1 professional sports franchise on the continent. He had Murphy on his team for part of two seasons and saw him in practice or in games on a daily basis while Murphy was in MLB. I can believe in Girardi's judgement: or that of some blog posters whose names I do not know? Who would YOU believe?

    WRONG! Only 11 teams participated, mainly because the other teams already had full rosters and therefore were not eligible to participate. Those 11 teams DID NOT PASS! They selected someone else, who perhaps met their needs better. Please don't tell me again that 30 teams passed on Zach Jones!

    When tallying up the pros and cons resulting from the Hicks-Murphy trade, there is one more overlooked item on the "pro" list to consider. Since Murphy, John Hicks and Centeno were added to the catching corps, how many posts have we had to read and explain to the poster that Joe Mauer CAN'T be moved back behind the plate?.........EVEN if the Twins threaten to withhold the balance of his $23M contact? God Bless Aaron Hicks, John Ryan Murphy and Tiny Terry! And God Bless Us Everyone!

    We already signed our former top 100 prospect earlier.....Joe Benson!! Baseball America twice ranked him in the 100 top prospects in baseball . (2010-2011)

    Barring injury to a starting rotation is almost impossible. If you will pay me $20 for each start missed due to injury, grieving, child-birth or undisclosed personal issue (Ervin Santana), I will pay you $200 if the five original Twins SP's can actually make all the starts. Please don't take that bet, I can't do the jail time....

    In fact, catcher is now such a position of depth for the Twins, that Kurt Suzuki has become a trade chip. The Twins now have: Suzuki, Murphy and Hicks on the 40-man roster. Centeno, Turner and Paulino at AAA. Garver and Navaretto at AA Trade Suzuki (and Plouffe?) for whatever you think we need.

    The Twins have done an excellent job upgrading their defense at catcher, which WAS their worst position at the MLB level. Replacing Hermann, Fryer and Pinto with Murphy, Hicks and Centeno is a HUGE upgrade!     Murphy, Hicks and Centeno, who were added to replace Hermann, Fryer and Pinto, are ALL excellent defensive upgrades at a defense-first position. The Twins did an fine job repairing their weakest position at the MLB level.

    Since he was selected in the MINOR league Rule 5 draft, it means that the Marlins didn't include him in their 38-man AAA reserve list, so the Angels OBVIOUSLY thought more highly of him then did the Marlins. He should be happy to be with the Angels.

    Do you not realize that playing baseball games is a poor way to condition and a poor way to develop MOST baseball skills? If Sano stops playing baseball games, he can help almost EVERY aspect of his baseball skills and conditioning at structured workouts. That is why year-round travel ball is detrimental to player development He may lose his hitting timing, but he can recover THAT during Spring Training.

    I think the APROPRIATE wording should be "I don't think it will matter". Roberto Clemente, Johan Santana and Josh Hamilton don't happen often, but as Joaquin Andujar said, " I've got one word for you......'you never know!'"

    Santana, Gibson, Duffey, Berrios, Hughes, Nolasco, Milone, Rogers, Darnell, plus May/Meyer in emergency. Just eleven SP's ahead of Dean. He is just one Ebola epidemic away from the Big Leagues.

    Decisions are easier AFTER the Rule 5 draft, free agency, and arbitration when everyone has a full 40-man roster again. It's easier to get someone through waivers when the other teams are trying to do the same thing.
