  1. This is your version of "We've had backup catcher covered for quite some times"? Drew Butera* 2008-2013 Eric Fryer* 2012-2015 Chris Herrmann* 2009, 2011-2015 Steve Holm 2011 Jose Morales 2006-2010 Josmil Pinto* 2012-2015 Rene Rivera* 2011-2012
  2. Let me know if that becomes the rule. I am now retired, so I would not have any credibility in any....................................ZAP!
  3. I think he means that he disagrees with the opinion stated in the headline and the first post. (as do I) The pros and cons of the trade, on the other hand, are certainly debatable and post-worthy (128 posts so far)!
  4. "A future perennial all-star (and possible HOFer) has been senselessly lost forever--and for absolutely nothing!" From the Brewers Website Jones, meanwhile, garnered recommendations from Brewers scout Brad Del Barba and Class A Wisconsin pitching coach Gary Lucas. Lucas came to the Brewers last year from the Twins organization and worked with Jones in 2014 at advanced Class A Ft. Myers. Jones, 25, was a fourth-round Draft pick of the Twins in 2012 and has 186 strikeouts and .186 opponents' average in 130 1/3 Minor League innings. He had a 4.18 ERA in 45 games between the advanced Class A and Double-A levels in 2015. "A pure power arm," Minasian said. "He'll blow guys away with his fastball. … We're buying a big, big fastball and we'll see what he can do." Jones joins a group of recent 40-man roster adds with power fastballs, including Jacob Barnes, Yhonathan Barrios and Damien Magnifico.
  5. I don't know how. Nobody I know is an MLB GM. I wasn't assessing your posting ability. I was assessing JR Murphy's ceiling as better than competent, rather than accepting the assessments of the Chief and you. IMO, all three of our assessments are suspect, compared to that of Joe Girardi and the two GM's.
  6. Thanks, I'll get better, although it may take a 12-step program.
  7. "Competent" is a word chosen by another poster who may also be described as "competent". Murphy was the #4 Yankee prospect in 2014. He signed for $1.25 million, much more than me, and I know that I am better than "competent". If you want better than competent, you have to give up more than a CF with a career-BA of .225
  8. I guess I am having a hard time forgiving Oswaldo's haircut, but just give me a little more time....
  9. I was sure you could tell them apart. Orlando is a very good baseball player. Oswaldo is a guy with a bad haircut. Orlando is a long shot for the HOF. (Hall of Fame). Oswaldo is a slam-dunk for the HOF. (Haircuts of Fools)
  10. Oswaldo Arcia in 2015 vs. RHP = .220BA /.277OBP/ .402SLG/ .678OPS Unless you were describing his brother, Orlando Arcia, your description is bleeped!
  11. I hope that what sounded like "Nolasco" was TR sneezing.
  12. I've been told that I have a hole in my head, but that's beside the point.
  13. This is my list for 2016 Twins Sping Training Invitees: RHP Jose Berrios Nick Burdi Loek Van Mil Jake Reed Kohl Stewart LHP Stephen Gonsalves Aaron Thompson Tyler Jay Dan Runzler C Juan Centeno Mitch Garver Brian Navaretto Carlos Paulino Stuart Turner IF James Beresford Buck Britton Nick Gordon Engelb Vielma Daniel Palka OF Joe Benson Zach Granite Reynaldo Rodriguez Shannon Wilkerson
  14. The Twins will soon announce their 2016 Spring Training Non-roster invitees. Who will be on that list? Pick your own list if you need an excuse to avoid your Honey-Do's. Below is the 2015 list: RHP Jose Berrios Blaine Boyer Tyler Duffey Mark Hamburger Adrian Salcedo LHP Ryan O'Rourke Taylor Rogers C Eric Fryer Mitch Garver Tyler Grimes Dan Rohlfing Stuart Turner IF James Beresford Doug Bernier Argenis Diaz Jose Martinez Heiker Meneses OF Byron Buxton Eric Farris Danny Ortiz Shane Robinson
  15. Obviously sarcastic and intentionally overstated, BUT the most unlikely statement of all has to be "we're all agreed". We are NEVER all agreed!!!
  16. They knew who was on the list, but they did NOT know if THE GUY they wanted would be available when their turn came up. Rather than deal with THAT risk, 19 teams decided to stand pat with 40 players from their own organization or leave room for Free Agents later.
  17. You convinced me. DON'T RELAX! Get frustrated and angry! Kick your dog! Yell at your kids! Yell at your wife! Punch a brick wall! Head-butt the same brick wall. Belly-flop off the high diving board! Run across a freeway! Curse your boss! Quit your job! Live in the street! Good, that takes care of YOU! I'm gonna relax............
  18. A LHP who touched 1000 mph SHOULD BE #1. Just kidding. I realize that was a typo.
  19. I agree that "not wanting" another teams player for the sole reason that they are willing to trade him is ludicrous. Trading would be impossible. There aren't THAT many untouchables!
  20. Brian McCann, Gary Sanchez and Luis Torrens AND they need Hicks to replace Ellsbury and Gardner.
  21. "should be able to project" does not guarantee they are successful at projecting and that is why Rule 5 results get second-guessed on TwinsDaily.
  22. An issue, in which Twins scouts may not be the authorities, is guessing which players are most likely to picked by the eleven teams eligible to participate in Rule 5 Draft. That is a factor in "which players to put on the 40 man" and there may not be ay authorities on that subject.
  23. If that was actually Jones' main problem at AA, it figures to be a HUGE problem for him at Brewers' MLB Spring Training and Regular Season. We may get him back soon as many have already predicted here.
  24. THAT is the explanation which makes perfect sense to me and ends my argument. I wish someone had explained that issue to me 10 pages ago, but thank you for saving me from the next 10 pages.
