    Pretty sure it was ugly in the clubhouse towards the end of last season too. Didn’t they institute a “different approach” coming into this season because of that? I don’t know why anyone expected anything differently this season, certainly not expecting the twins to make the postseason. If Wednesday’s disaster didn’t cost Rocco his job, I’m not sure what actually will. He’s like George costanza, just can’t get fired no matter what he does or how many former players speak out after leaving.

    This is the story right here. We’ve all worked in toxic environments with bad management at some point. It’s not even a debate anymore about the manager’s inability to competently run the clubhouse. The fact that he’s still employed after the events of yesterday.is mind numbing.

    I kind of agree with this. It will be a more interesting watch than the usual lineup. Now maybe I’ll tune out after the novelty wears off, but it will interesting to see how they try and piece together the last two months.

    Because his presence is toxic, certainly to fans and ostensibly to the players. Has there been any point in at least the last two seasons where any of the players seemed to like playing for him? They don’t have to like him but they should play hard for him and they didn’t do that either.

    Right? And are the tigers facilities that much better than target field, which was opened ten years later? Did the tigers do some big renovation I haven’t heard about? Guy got a new lease on life and knows it.

    Also, it’s crazy how Correa just up and left. I thought he was “all in” on Minnesota? First time his old team calls and it’s “please get me TF out of here”

    Judging by some of the comments from newly made ex-players, the twins clubhouse sounds like an absolutely miserable, toxic place for some guys. And those guys are happy to be gone. I literally cannot think of one reason why he’s not been shown the door yet. Even buck showalter just said it was unprofessional to make the moves he did yesterday.

    True, but there’s not been even one point where he deserved one. Even after the winning streak, that was like May. He shouldn’t have even seen this year, but that horse is very dead

    I wouldn’t be, but why even bother extending the contract? The team didn’t look like a contender 5 weeks ago when the extension came to light. All that did was turn yet more fans off. It certainly did for me.

    Because we got too many guys that will never play for or meaningfully contribute to the twins in return. I think the one dude is like 26 years old playing in A ball with an ERA over 6. Yes I understand trading Correa wasn’t about a player return but Jeeze. We got rid of talented players like people get rid of stuff they don’t want to pack when moving.

    Why in the world did they extend the manager if these were the moves that were going to be made? Why didn’t they just wait? Or is he just coming back for another lame duck season? Why would you want anyone who touched this team you just tore apart to be around a basically new roster?
