    Without another look, I thought Doumit was still playing deep (conservative knowing his liabilities), thus the ground ball was even slower to get to, and then the slow movement into a throw and weak throw. Not saying Parm or someone else would have got him, but with Doumit playing there, there's no chance, none. Edit: The replay shows Doumit still playing very deep. Granted it's Howard at the plate. I still don't like it.

    Glad we had Doumit in RF... stupid. just stupid. Dozier's base running blunder really hurts too -- as we knew it would.

    Nah, for whatever reason we were told that Revere wasn't playing the ball as well in LF as in RF, and Hammer didn't want to move and has been in LF for a while now and the move to RF would be difficult, maybe. It's up to you whether to believe any of this, but that was what was said. On these boards, and the general sense of defensive positioning would be to put Revere in left because of the arm weakness and more spacious LF at Target, and get Hammer to RF.
