And unless there was an extreme case, I wouldn't be pinch-hitting anybody. This is what I feel is the best 9 hitters on the team. While you could certainly argue Jeffers and his 20 HR as better than Vazquez over the season, I have bias towards what has happened lately and I prefer Vazquez's defense.
Gotta hand it to whichever one of you said it months ago about how this team loses so many games on the fringes. Tonight and Sunday are further examples of that. Add to it the terrible baserunning and some of these defensive lapses and that reflects squarely on the windbreakers in the dugout.
So of course he leaves him in. This guy just doesn't get it. You have someone up IMMEDIATELY to start the 8th. Duran for the 9th and whoever just in case Okert messes up, which is likely. Someone gonna defend this one?
