  1. Yep. If he got his fastball velo back, which he did, I was in line with this thinking.
  2. that was a strike...JD has to put one of those other pitches in play. On second look JD didn't even try to argue it, which is pretty telling. That was a strike.
  3. Man, I've been a supporter of Willians for quite a while, but it's getting pretty predictable every at bat. Swing at one of the first 2 pitches in the top third of the zone that results in a popup. Hitting the ball is good and all, but not hitting the ball hard is no better than not hitting it at all.
  4. yeah, by tough teams, they mean "doing well 15 games in." Angels will be good, but that was only one loss. Oakland won't make the playoffs, nor will Seattle. Red Sox are 50/50.
  5. Does one tower of lights make that much of a difference? One thing if it's in CF, but it's in LF..
  6. This might be our super bowl moment..I'm expecting no less than 5 runs this inning
  7. I'm so tired of this eff'ing batting practice excuse. It can't be the reason for keeping guys fresh, but also be used against why we hit like trash.
  8. Rooker is at least a tier below the AK/Larnach tier...not really profiled as a corner outfielder, and is likely a 1B long term. The + on him was his bat, but it hasn't done much this year. That said, neither have many of our guys.
  9. Berrios with a much better pace that inning. Lets score some runs!
  10. Garver to Donaldson to Berrios....I have a Twingo!
  11. DFA Luke and give Will a call. At least it would add some comedy to this group of suck
  12. to be fair, many of the guys on this team weren't prospects under this FO. Our first real chance to judge this is Lewis/AK/Larnach, plus a few of the arms, but none of those are considered #1 arms.
  13. He gave up a slugging percentage of .455 and xSlug of .497 last year on his fastball. That isn't a recipe for a good reliever, who many want to get late inning opportunities. The pitch being hittable and not having great control over it is not good.
  14. People love Alcala because he throws hard, which fine. However, the fastball isn't very "good." It gets hit hard and doesn't get swing and misses. Throwing hard is fine and makes good PitchingNinja posts, but if it's ineffective it's just a moot point.
  15. Alcala does not have a clue where the ball is going
  16. Yikes. Yikes. Yikes. May can't get here soon enough
  17. Man, either we are super slow to the plate or the A's have zero respect to Garver. I'm not sure Garver has has a chance to throw any of the SB attempts out yet
  18. I can't believe I'm asking for this but...can we put Lewis Thorpe in?
  19. Astudillo to Polanco to Sano, just like we all predicted 2.5 weeks ago
  20. Picking up a ball with your barehand is like the second thing taught to tee-ballers. What are you doing Sano?
