  1. Welp. This bullpen must have additions, and it must have them NOW. HOWEVER, the offense has been horrid for the past three weeks or so.
  2. Interesting going to Littell here...great boost of confidence in the young righty lately. He's here to stay for the rest of the year I think, or at least Rocco is using him like so. Let's hope he can get the job done. However, this almost confirms Rogers will be used for another 2 out save unless for some reason we decide to go to (gulp) Parker in the 8th.
  3. Who buys tickets to a baseball game to go play cornhole?
  4. Royals up 1-0 over Cleveland after 7
  5. Jorge Polanco has a .644 OPS in the last 4 weeks...yikes.
  6. I know this probably wouldn't be popular around here, but I would go to May for the 7th. Get him back on the bump. Only way to get confidence back is to go out there and throw.
  7. Very nice work by Duffey. Offense MUST add runs on to a very average left hander who we haven't made work at all.
  8. Those two outs are big, as long as we can get out of it. That is two less outs the rest of fhe bullpen has to get to get the ball to Rogers. Hoping we are able to get thru the 7th and 8th without using Rogers, but who knows.
  9. I don't care what prime Madison Bumgarner then. He isn't close to the same pitcher now as he was back then. Are you taking Hanley Rameriz over Jorge Polanco or Fernando Rodney over Taylor Rogers because of experience? I didn't think so.
  10. He is Gibson level, maybe slightly better. He isn't an ace. He has name recognition, but he isn't better than JO or Odo. He is dominant against lefties, average against righties, certainly not an ace.
  11. Sticking with Berrios. I don't mind it. Probably better the third time thru than Stewart anyway.
  12. Stroman is much closer to an ace than JO in my opinion, although both are closer to just a #1 rather than an ace. Bumgarner is much closer to a number 5 starter than an ace.
  13. You hear catchers talking about those nights where they are thrilled to get a good start because the pitcher didn't have their best stuff, and tonight looks like one of those nights. JO works in and out of jams, but certainly didn't have his best stuff. Will be very interesting to see how these next 4 innings are pieced together. I am guessing Stewart, Duffey, Parker, Rogers. Would love to have the offense tag on some more runs.
  14. Not yet, but I view very few pitchers as an ace. Scherzer, Grienke, DeGrom, Syndergaard, Verlander, Kershaw, Sale, and Kluber when he was healthy. Everyone else is a number 1, but not an ace. There is a difference in my mind. An ace is going to have their best stuff every time out there, while a number one is going to have nights where they are fighting themselves (see JO tonight). JO could become an ace, but I think that is probably a dream at this point.
  15. Chapman has taken up like 20% of Berrios pitches. I'm sure he gets sent out for the 6th, but doubt he'd be able to finish it.
  16. JO doesn't have his best stuff, but he has done enough. Anything we get past the 5th will be icing on the cake. Two runs isn't going to win this ball game though. Let's go offense.
  17. Thank god Gibby isn't on the mound. He would get 0 called strikes with this ump behind the plate.
  18. Good news is we lead 2-0. Bad news is JO has thrown 47 pitches and 6 got outs Better buckle down quickly to have a chance to get thru 6.
  19. Why? Sure he is below average, but not as bad as you think. His arm saves a lot of plays, and that error to start off the game wasn't on him.
  20. CRUZ CRUSH!!!!!! Let's have ourselfs a BOMBA BASH BABY!
  21. And that is why JO is an ace. Fantastic work
  22. Let's Go Twins!!! Lineup needs a spark
