  1. Say it ain't Sano. My thoughts, Sano is uber talented and confident. Without a doubt in my mind, there is some truth to the article - witness Molitor on the record. Is it his confidence or new distractions causing lack of focus? Do you think there is a lack of focus? Weight has been a previous concern, and it may always continue to be a concern. One thing for certain, there is blank check that hasn't been signed. Besides his desire to be great, there is a desire to get paid. I see Sano being great, but will it be Greatness (HOF)?
  2. Hicks gets you John Ryan Murphy. Kepler doesn't get you Lucroy. At this point, today, you would have to give up a lot more than Kepler for Lucroy. What are you giving up for the other catchers? And I assume you want to trade for Weiters and give him an extension. I'm sure all of those catchers you mentioned are available...assuming the "right" price. So, if we would have traded a number of prospects and current roster players to get any of the catchers you mentioned than we would have been taking the right step to become World Series contenders. I'm not buying what you're selling.
  3. Hello DaveW, Was John Ryan Murphy an upgrade at Catcher? Yes or No. What free agent catcher would you have signed to qualify as not settling for mediocrity? Or, better yet, why don't you make up a fantasy trade where we give up a little to get a significant upgrade at catcher. Love to hear what you'll come up with to blow us away with your baseball savvy. Silky Twins fan who has glass half full
  4. Mauer's numbers when people are in scoring position is very encouraging. If his decline is partly/mainly attributed to concussion symptoms, it is reasonable to believe another year removed from this damaging brain injury will lead to more of the Mauer of old than present. I'm hopeful Mauer steep decline will at least be partly if not completely reversed. I think we retain Plouffe because he could be our 3rd basemen for years (Sano may be better suited to play 1st/DH).
  5. Maybe I overlooked this point already being mentioned, but it seems those arguing for trading Plouffe are neglecting to factor in his value besides the "numbers". Plouffe is an important clubhouse leader. How soon we forget what occurs when you lose guys like Cuddyer & Hunter. Plouffe may not be to that level, and I understand we brought Hunter in to help create better team chemistry/winning spirit, but we need to keep those who are the glue to what holds everything together. We're on the cusp of greatness - Plouffe has an important role to play for at least 1-2 more years before passing along the torch.
  6. I'm in total agreement with PseudoSABR. My pet peeve is when people comment on the grammatical mistakes in a post instead of the content. The purpose of posting is to have a conversation/discussion, however, it seems that many lose the intent by picking out the meaningless mistakes that "bother" the reader. "Say It Ain't SanO..."
  7. Say It Ain't SanO..... This setback may actually be a blessing in disguise because of the time to reflect on what may be lost and the desire to keep what is rightfully yours. Mentally - Bigger, Faster, Stronger
