  1. I'd actually call this relatively minor compared to some of the other garbage he's pulled. But what a fall is right. Chuck Knoblauch just makes me sad.
  2. I was surprised that Pelfrey wasn't in the bottom three in pace, then figured he must not have thrown the minimum 20 innings last season...but I looked it up and he pitched 23. SSS?
  3. I'm definitely intrigued by O'Rourke as a LOOGY. If he can maintain last season's jump in K/9 in 2015, it will go a long ways towards him being legit in my eyes.
  4. He may not have been much of a pitcher, but he did have a great mustache. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U9eH0vEBGWQ/UD5eyea_DtI/AAAAAAAAeiE/s_ftubGjBUY/s1600/john+pacella+(1).jpg
  5. He's young and young people make mistakes, and not everyone matures on the same timeline. Still, it seems to me that every time Boyd's name has come up over the past couple of years, it hasn't been for anything positive; he's had both poor on-field performance as well as off-field issues. Maybe that's selective memory on my part. Either way, I was excited by the scouting reports when he was drafted, so I'm definitely pulling for him. Hopefully this is a wake up call; he certainly wouldn't be the first baseball player to have some bumps early on in his career before turning things around.
  6. I'm cool with this as long as Santana continues to get reps at SS, too...as well as LF and perhaps even 2B/3B. I just don't think it's clear yet what Santana's long-term role is; it could very well be as a super-UT.
  7. 'Jardinero' just means 'outfielder.' www.baseball-reference.com/friv/English_to_Spanish.pdf
  8. Unless he suddenly develops some defensive chops, Pinto is best served as an offensive compliment to a defensive-minded backstop. Suzuki's starting job is secure for 2015, but if Turner continues to develop this season at AA the Twins could be eyeing a combination of Turner and Pinto behind the plate as early as the 2016 trade deadline.
