The game is rich enough to pay these players a lot more. Just think how much the taxpayer pays for teams stadiums. Hard to believe the taxpayer doesn't pay something for the ones who don't get a big payday. Mandate % of MLB salaries to go the minors. This isn't going to bankrupt anyone.

If he can start 10 games this year someone will have to give him a 3 year contract worth $30 million or more.

As young as Buxton is he may not produce a productive season until he's 24 or 25. Giving him a security contract until he proves he is the real deal is a bad idea. Tampa should be disappointed in Longorias performance. Expecting bigger numbers than last years .269. He should be driving in 110 runs and scoring that many with an OPS nearing 1.00.

Utility players are a dime a dozen.

I'm wondering if Willingham would get released if he is hitting .200 at the end of May? I'm not sure if he is going to bounce back at his age?

He'll have to play in one of those independent rookie leagues.

A bigger decision will if Amanda know is handed over to Italy

It's suppose to rain on both sides. I assume they would use sensors on the both sides of the plate, but let the umpire determine the top to bottom strike zone?

1 of 3 pitchers who pitched for the Twins with 200 career victories.

If they hit this many HRs the Twins will win 81 at least.

Kaat had won 7 games in Sept and should have pitched on Oct. 1 the last day of the regular season. The video pointed out the 7 victories. He only pitched 2 innings this game but needed an extra day of rest.

They have game 7 of the 1965 World Series I noticed on YouTube.

I wonder if the Twins will wait until July so Meyers wouldn't be eligible for arbitration until after the 2017 season.

Anyone remember the 1967 pennant race? The Twins lost the last 3 games of the season including the last 2 to the pennant winning Red Sox. It was nearly a 3way tie with Tigers losing by a game tying the Twins for 2nd place. This is had to be a heart wrenching loss coming close to 2 WS in 3 years. I read somewhere that Denny McClain had gamblers break one of his toes near the end of the season and he missed his last start with the Tigers losing by a game. I know Yaz went wild at the end of the season to win the triple crown.

I am sure that there will better OFers available by next offseason.

Thought Ron was a better hitter than he was.

    Who is this?

So the 6 year service time wouldn't apply? So he's an international free agent?
  20. thetank
Wonder how well you can evaluate his hitting?

Diaz might sign in the next day or so. He's been working out for different clubs. I am guessing the Yankees. The Twins would have to make a great offer.

His brother, JD, was always missing games except in the years he became a FA. You will likely have to have another SS playing an average of 50 games a year.

Carew's record with the Angels wasn't that impressive. Didn't drive in many or score many with few extra base hits especially the last 5 years. Missed many games.
  24. thetank
If it takes Sano and Bruxton a few years to be productive there may be a couple of years more of 90 losses.

Biggio is a HOFer. I would vote for him if I had a vote. He caught, played second, and CF. It helped getting 3000 hits. I think Jeter was a better hitter. When I read the sabermetrics gurus they don't like Jeter's fielding. I can concede that they may have a point despite his being voted a gold glover a few times.
