    Love watching Arcia swing. His power is awesome. To truly help Arcia and upcoming prospects such as Sano achieve their potential I think the Twins need to get a coach on the staff that has Latin American roots to help them more rapidly adjust to the bigs. Cant wait to have the Twins with a powerful lineup and a stocked pitching rotation. Meyer, May, etc....

    I must admit to not following obsessively, but it seems to me Levi Michael seems to be putting some things together. As a whole the Twins organization has a dearth of middle infield options. Be nice to see some options matriculate through the system.

    Personally I think the Twins will do better....Adding Nolasco, Hughes and bringing back Pelfrey year two off of TJ, Corriea and some combo of Kyle Gibson/Sam Deduno(depending on coming back from injury)/Scott Diamond (coming back to form)/ Vance Worley (coming back to form) the Twins have a chance to have a competent rotation. That being said think that puts them at ~20. Wouldn't be the worst thing to have one more draw at the high-end talent other than having to watch another year of it....It's my guess they pop up a bit and we get to see Meyer and Sano at the end of the year so some good stuff coming (Only good thing Bill Smith did is get Sano)

    Just an observation regarding the Twins starting rotation. Nolasco - Signed 4 years Hughes - Signed 3 years Pelfrey - Signed 2 years Corriea - 1 year This means there is a 5th slot open to be won this year. With Gibson on year two after TJ I expect him to be better (Gibson go out and get that please!) and if Alex Meyer is lighting it up early on look for one of Corriea/Pelfrey to be moved out of the way (1 year 5 million isn't much for a psuedo reliable #4 pitcher trade Corriea mid season and two slots are open.) 2015 rotation then is something like this (placed in alpha order not necessarily rotation sequence): -Gibson -Hughes -Meyer -Nolasco -Pelfrey

    Whats interesting is that according to the evil 4 letter network website Tanaka's team may choose not to post Tanaka now if they only can get $20 million. If that comes to fruition it would seem to me that would make the Twins early moves to get Nalasco and Hughes to be even more important. Remove Tanaka and all of a sudden that removes one of the top tier pitching talents making the remainder that much more important.

    It is a small sample sizze, but I truly am enjoying watching this guy: That 3 run bomb Sunday afternoon against the Rays was a shot. This kid definitely passes the eye test as a big league player. Of course will need to see more to see what happens when the league adjust to him

    I want to see the kids to see what we got. If they win with the kids I'm ok with that. That means that Arcia, Pinto, Herrmann, Cololbello and such facing big league pitching like Jared Weaver are succeeding. Most of the remaining games are against teams fighting for playoffs (A's, Indians, Tigers, Rays). Sadly from pitching perspective not much to watch...maybe Albers/Hendricks/Tonkin in relief (biggest upside is Tonkin) In my mind the best case scenario is the twins kids perform well and based on the utter weakness of the Twins starting pitching they valiantly snatch defeat and a top 5 draft slot

    So back to Tanaka.... Bottom line is that over last couple years the twins have cut payroll and saved. I think legitimately so as spending more the last couple years would not have been the answer...at best delivered mediocrity. The top line free agents pitchers weren't coming here (Zach Gereineke) they can get overpaid and play for contenders. But...with money saved and now the salary shed with Morneau being traded (Go Pirates!), Blackburn coming off the books, it is time to go after Tanaka. With the posting process once you win that you have a captive negotiation. If the Twins can get a legitimate number 2 starter who is 24 years old for a 90-100million composite over the next 6 years they need to do so. This is the number one hole at the moment and would provide the right now building block There are good things coming through the farm system...It just the pitching due to injury (Meyer) and needing more refinement (May) are at best mid season 2014 and more likely 2015. Once the farm system pipeline starts delivering it truly looks like the Twins are positioned for a 8-10 year run. Sure be nice to add another trophy to the champions club!

    IE 10 has wrecked havock on legacy web applications across the internet. Cant tell you how many times I've explained to end users go to developer mode and set to IE9...or 8 or perhaps just use Chrome or Firefox. I hate IE 10.

    I have to admit utter and complete ignorance regarding Masahiro Tanaka other than what I have read in places such as Twins Daily. Based on what I have read it sounds like we are talking a relatively young (24) pitcher who has number two starter or worst case number 3 starter. Right now the pipeline for big league ready starters is bare...some good stuff coming (Meyer/May/Berrios/Stewart/Melotakis) But with injuries(Meyer) and still working on control (May) Isn't anything ready come Opening Day next year. Twins should overspend on this if needed. They have saved money recently on payroll and a bunch more coming off. Right now attracting a top free agent isn't going to happen with out absurd overpaying. Post high. By doing this it is actually cheaper. Post $35 pay 40-45 over 5 years and you are starting to fill that gap. Tanaka - 2014 Meyer - 2014.5/2015 May - 2015 Berrios/Melotakis/Stewart - 2016 Sure I'm missing some starting pitchers coming up. But you get Tanaka (who will be cheaper, wont require to trade away any assets, and won't have any other options like FA pitchers) and 2014 has a chance to be the year that the 90 loss years end. Hell at that point go nuts and overspend on Phil Hughes andn Twins might even think about a wildcard. Twins got the money with Morneau/Blackburn and previous subtraction. Going after Tanaka makes all the sense in the world....IF the scouts like what they have seen
