  1. Cave hits righties better than Rosario. 119 wRC+ vs 111 wRC+ career wise plus Cave has better defense.
  2. Eddie Rosario was worse defensively. Yeah, Cave made a few bonehead plays in the OF but Rosario was just worse all around defensively. Sure, he threw out Devers in Boston but he might not have had too if he made other, easier plays. (I don't remember that game in detail, i'm unaware if he could have)
  3. I'd honestly platoon him and Rosario, at least until Rosario improves (if he still can)
  4. Alright, i'll use a different statisitic. Outs above Avg, a statistic measuring catch probability, Eddie Rosario ranked dead last. Here is a link to baseball savants OAA leaderboards with a deeper explanation of the metric.
  5. Ehire is a lot better than Polanco defensively, but still not great.
  6. You got me there, maybe not 3B immediately. Give him some innings there in ST and see how well he takes it and move from there. I do think he cracks the 26 man as the 26th man with Schoop likely gone. His defense is his positive and the Twins have a lack of defensively capable infielders as mentioned before.
  7. I digress. I feel like Gordon could play the Schoop role next year(Defensive sub/there to get the starters rest), if no infield depth moves are made. Infield defense is a desperate need of the Twins and Gordon fills that niche, the Twins had one of the worst infields by UZR. Just an example, Sano could move to 1st and Gordon could hold 3B at least until Royce Lewis is ready. Even then Gordon could still have a role as a utility guy to complement Lewis if the Twins decide to utilize Lewis as a plug-n-play guy like Ketel Marte.
  8. I just don't see the Reds dumping Bauer after getting him, they want to contend in a relatively weak central that could be getting weaker. Cave is a very good 4th OF, by wRC+ he was a better hitter than Eddie Rosario. He's also an experienced OF when we have quite a few in AAA who need ABs. Wade/Raley/Rooker/ect And Harper->Poppen are all under TC for a while, you can't give them minor league deals.
  9. If Castro doesn't return, i'd like to see what the Padres wants for Austin Hedges.
  10. My understanding was that Lewis wasn't playing SS only because the Twins didn't get a preferential SS slot for him.
  11. You can when he swings at everything. 4th highest chase rate in the majors
  12. Kepler had a ,450 OBP in high leverage situations though.
  13. Eddie has a legitimate shot at being the worst defensive OF in the game. His OOA, (which is a metric that measures catch probably) Which you can read about here was bottom of the league at -17. Eddie does not walk, he does not have competive ABs, and he's a league average hitter according to his wRC+, which was mentioned by commentors earlier. Sure, he is a solid clubhouse presense, but is that the only think he has going for him at the next level?
