What are we trying to get? That this will be one of the top 14 wins this year?

Romero brings back memories of a certain pitcher who made his Twins debut in 1990. Came straight from Double A if I remember correctly. Not that they're the same type of pitcher just that they debuted right out of Double A.

More like a fireplug with legs.
  6. Blake
Yeah, but Hildenburger throws relatively hard for a sidewinder. I think he can hit 91 to 92 with his fastball.

I second the "fun to watch." Berrios, Gibson and now Romero are "must watch Twins baseball?"
  8. Blake
Yeah, that's a tough one, don't know what to think. I really hate to see Romero moved to the bullpen when Santana comes back. Providing, of course, Romero is the real deal. Are the Twins in a position to make a killer trade at the deadline, dealing an arm they've no space for?
  9. Blake
I think you roll with Romero, shake Mr. Hughes hand, give him his gold watch and wish him good luck in his future endeavors.
  10. Blake
To heck with that, give us Morneau and Smalley with Torii and LaTroy filling in once in a while.

I think if, from what little I've seen, Romero keeps it up, Hughes isn't much longer for the Twins. The Twins are in position to have a formidable starting rotation over the next few years, if Romero is able to continue his success. Twins rotation consisting of Berrios, Gibson, Romero and Santana looks pretty good this year. Bullpen should be solid and arms waiting in Rochester to take Santana's spot if his option isn't picked up. Then, with the return of Buxton, Sano and Polanco...

And a little bit louder and a little bit worse...
  13. Blake
Yeah, I'd be wearing sunglasses if I was being interviewed by Ms. Martin. Again, Gibson deserved a win and didn't get it.
  14. Blake
Shouldn't that be "Tell me I'm Wong?"
  15. Blake
I'm retiring. I'm a perfect 3-0. At least until my next game threads are due, anyway. (sorry chief, didn't mean to give you a heart attack)
  16. Blake
I'll have to remember that one!
  17. Blake
Excellent job, as per usual, RB!
  18. Blake
I set myself up for that one. However, Brian is the consummate professional, so, much like Mr. Grossman, he'll do a very workmanlike job tomorrow morning with the opener.
  19. Blake
NO! Team effort! No "I" in team!
  20. Blake
Shouldn't be too hard to make. Looks like a white sauce of butter and cream. Maybe a little curry tossed in sauce. Maybe roast the potatoes and brown the chicken a bit before pouring the white sauce over the chicken. Put in the oven for 45 minutes maybe and you're good to go!
  21. Blake
Interesting enough, we currently have a chicken roasting on the grill.
  22. Blake
    All signs point to: Yes!
  23. Blake
    Winner!
  24. Blake
by the way, I don't think Rodney is slow, per se, I think he's very deliberate but I don't see him as someone who screws around on the mound like other pitchers I've watched.
  25. Blake
You haven't seen those threads? Must be your eyesight. Tends to go as one ages...
