  1. The Twins Daily Social Club Opening Day Watch Party is back this year with a fresh location: BlackStack Brewing! Here's how to get your free tickets, complimentary beer, and access to more giveaways than we've ever had at a watch party. We're stoked to have BlackStack Brewing as our official location and beer sponsor for this watch party. Not only are they hosting the Twins Daily crowd, displaying the game on a 220-inch display (and two other TVs in the brewery), and offering a free beer to everyone who RSVPs ahead of time on Eventbrite – plus a BOGO beer for a future visit – but we are raffling off gift cards and fantastic BlackStack merch (and more!) before the first pitch and after every inning! Located in the Midway neighborhood of St. Paul, BlackStack has the second-largest taproom in Minnesota. It has an extensive beer selection, including limited edition beers only found in the taproom. You can choose between their most renowned beers, their Local 755 New England IPA or the Slopes French Pilsner, or from their stacked list of delicious brews to sip on throughout the game. Not a beer fan? Blackstack has a variety of NA drink options, Twins-themed slushies, seltzer-based cocktails (that are also gluten-free), and THC drink options. We hear their NA Bootlegger is very tasty and very popular! It's been a long winter for Twins fans. We can't wait to get everyone back together to watch some meaningful baseball again. The Opening Day matchup, pitting Pablo López against Sonny Gray, promises to be an entertaining showdown, and you'll find plenty of fellow fans with whom to celebrate and commiserate. Local craft breweries can be known for location, environment, and variety, but above all BlackStack is known for its outstanding, intentionally crafted beer. Previously, that beer was limited to a few places outside its taproom, but now it is distributed all around greater Minnesota. Look for BlackStack's distinctive cans wherever you buy beer! You can also check out BlackStack's "Where to Buy" page on their website to find out where to buy your favorite beer or THC drinks. Sign up now to secure your spot and free beer at Twins Daily Social Club's Opening Day Watch Party at Blackstack Brewing. 3. Watching baseball with the Twins Daily community, tasty beer and delicious food, more giveaways than we've ever had at one watch party, and an after-party – what more could you want (or need) to celebrate baseball's season opener? Pablo López. Sonny Gray. You. Us. Beer. Fun. It's going to be an Opening Day to remember, and you won't want to miss it! With the Twins taking on the St. Louis Cardinals, the 2025 baseball season kicks off with the first pitch at 3:15 pm on Thursday, March 27, and the Twins Daily Social Club is hosting an Opening Day Watch Party. Celebrate with us! You don't even need to buy a ticket. Simply RSVP using the Eventbrite link we'll send out tomorrow with the announcement and details of this year's watch party location (doing so gets you a free beer at this mystery location that day). The location is not a mystery to those who've listened to blabbermouth John on the Gleeman and the Geek podcast but if you're among them, please, try to act surprised. When you arrive at the party and check in with us at the front door, we'll make sure you get your free beer ticket, your first raffle ticket, and everything else you'll need to make this Twins season opener unforgettable! We can't promise you'll witness a victory, as we did last year at Forgotten Star, but we can promise you won't witness a soul-crushing Royce Lewis injury. There will also be plenty of drawings, games, and prizes to enjoy between innings, as well as an after-party taking place after the game. We are giving this holy day of baseball fandom the love it deserves! Stay tuned to discover this year's awesome new location, prizes we'll be giving away, and more! We'll see you there! 5. Taking place just after the conclusion of TwinsFest on Saturday, January 25th, the 2025 Winter Meltdown brought together more than 250 attendees with a shared passion for Minnesota Twins baseball. There were games played, awesome raffle prizes won, and plenty to see and hear. John Bonnes and Aaron Gleeman, hosts of the Gleeman and The Geek podcast, hosted interviews with three key figures with the Twins. You can listen to the entire interviews here, but here's a quick rundown of what was covered. First, the podcasting partners were joined by Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers, who shared thoughts on a variety of subjects, including: His thoughts on the future of the strike zone, and how technology will impact the way games are called. Impressions of top prospect and fellow North Carolina native Walker Jenkins, with whom Jeffers has spent time training. The path forward for the Twins after last year's season-ending collapse. How much he'll miss Angel Hernandez, everyone's favorite umpire. Shortly after Jeffers kicked off the action, reigning Twins rookie of the year Simeon Woods Richardson took the stage alongside Gleeman and The Geek to reflect on his big-league breakthrough and how he intends to build on it. Among the topics of conversation: Keys to the velocity boost that fueled his success in 2024. How he navigated adapting to the major leagues while filling a key role for a competing team. The surreal experience of learning he was traded to the Twins at 3:00 AM while in Japan. The evolution of his pitch mix as his arm slot changed. Last but certainly not least, the hosts were joined by Cory Provus, TV Voice of the Minnesota Twins. Not only did he share his thoughtful insights about the team and its outlook, but Provus also offered plenty of intriguing tidbits about what we can expect from the broadcasts this year. Among the revelations: New cameras will be incorporated this season, providing unique angles and perspectives including "hero shots" that follow individual players in big moments. Cory expects that up to 15 games will be broadcast over the air this year. Attendees we spoke to during and after the event roundly raved about the guests. We heard folks remark about how knowledgeable Jeffers was, how charismatic Woods Richardson was, and how invested Provus was. We are so grateful to these three for providing Twins fans a deeper glimpse into their personalities and, of course, to John and Aaron for guiding the conversations in such fun directions. Again, you can listen to all three full interviews on the latest episode of the Gleeman and The Geek podcast. We had a terrific evening with you all as we get ready to welcome the 2025 season. Thank you again for weathering the winter elements to hang out with the Twins Daily community. As always, it was a special treat to get together with fellow Twins fans to chat, share laughs (sometimes misery), catch up with long-standing Twins Daily Caretakers and friends, and meet the new faces of those attending for the first time! We want to extend special thanks to all who helped make the night a success: our Twins Daily Caretakers, BlackStack Brewing, Caffrey's Deli & Subs, and Underground Music Venue. We sincerely appreciate you all for making our community and this event what it is. Thank you. We'll see you again soon, whether at spring training in Fort Myers, Target Field, or a brewery around the Twin Cities!
  6. This past Saturday, we hosted our annual Winter Meltdown, and thus far the general consensus has been that this year's event was the best Meltdown yet. We'd have to say we fully agree! It was a fantastic evening, packed with all things baseball, great conversations, and great company. Read on for highlights and a link to listen to the interviews. 7. Twins Daily's annual Winter Meltdown has featured Twins legends, homegrown big-leaguers, and fan favorites. But we've never featured two players coming off such great years that they both won awards just two days earlier. That changes this year, as we welcome Simeon Woods Richardson and Ryan Jeffers to the stage. Both players will be interviewed on stage, participate in some activities, and stick around to meet our caretakers and their friends. (No autographs, please.) You can join us, but you'll need to grab tickets ASAP because we're almost sold out. Simeon Woods Richardson Fresh off being awarded Outstanding Rookie by the Minnesota Twins and Twins Rookie of the Year by Twins Daily, starting pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson will take the stage at Winter Meltdown to talk about his breakthrough in the big leagues and how he plans to build on it in the coming year. Acquired from Toronto in the José Berríos trade, Woods Richardson spent a couple of seasons in the minor leagues before stepping into the Twins rotation last year at a time of great need. He delivered in a big way, with a new arm slot and improved velocity, helping him attack MLB hitters. The Twins went 17-11 in his 28 starts after Woods Richardson became a rotation fixture in mid-April. Ryan Jeffers As the Twins' starting catcher, Ryan Jeffers has a unique perspective on the team and its various parts. He works closely with the pitching staff, calls games, and receives from behind the plate. He is a key component of the batting lineup, with rare offensive ability for his position, ranking third among all catchers in wOBA since 2023 (min. 700 PA). As a veteran player who's now been with the Twins for five years, Jeffers is a clubhouse cornerstone with strong knowledge of his teammates and coaches. Plus, the man can provide insights and entertain—so much so that Jeffers earned the "Media Good Guy" Award from the Twins' beat writers. He'll collect that award just two days before the Meltdown at the Diamond Awards. Given all this, we are beyond excited to welcome Jeffers as a featured guest at the Winter Meltdown. He is cerebral in his thinking about the game and its many nuanced layers, and we know you're going to love hearing his insights heading into a crucial year for the Twins. So, So Much More Simeon Woods Richardson and Ryan Jeffers are the icing on a very tasty cake: They'll be joined by the Twins' play-by-play announcer Cory Provus for his insights on the team and their new TV situation. Everyone gets two free craft beers from local standout brewer BlackStack Brewing. Everyone goes home with one of our collectible pint glasses with our special 2025 Winter Meltdown design. It's easy to get to. This year's Winter Meltdown takes place on Saturday, 1/25, from 4-7 PM at the Underground Music Venue – just one block from Gate 3 at Target Field. Come hungry because we'll have a special deal on food from Caffrey's Deli & Subs. Plus, Hot Stove camaraderie, drawings, and activities throughout the event. Tickets This exclusive event has always been in high demand, and with only 200 tickets available this year, the ONLY way to get tickets is to become a Twins Daily Caretaker, but that's not such a chore. Joining Twins Daily's Caretakers starts at just $4/month. Not only will you support our passionate writers, moderators, and tech team, but you'll also gain access to exclusive content and other great benefits. We'd LOVE to have you as part of the community! As a Caretaker, you'll receive one free ticket to the Meltdown and the option to purchase up to three additional tickets for just $20 each. We do not have enough tickets left to offer to the general public, so we need to take care of our Caretakers since they take care of Twins Daily. So… Become a Caretaker here! Already a Caretaker? Thank you! But don't wait any longer to secure your ticket—demand is high, and we're almost sold out already! View full article

  9. We're excited to kick off the week by announcing the first of three special guests joining us at the Winter Meltdown this weekend! Minnesota Twins TV play-by-play announcer Cory Provus will join us for an exclusive live interview as the team ushers in a new era for its broadcasts. Twins Daily is excited to host the 2025 Winter Meltdown at the Underground Music Venue nearby Target Field, starting at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 25th. You can find more details here, including how to get your tickets. Attendees will get a chance to watch live interviews with three special guests, the first of whom we're revealing today: Cory Provus, TV play-by-play announcer for the Minnesota Twins! Cory Provus took the helm last year at a tumultuous time for TV as the team navigated its gradual departure from Bally's/Diamond Sports. But now the Twins are ready to fully step into their vision for the future, with Provus leading the way. The team's new direct-to-consumer streaming option, Twins TV, promises to eliminate blackouts and expand the availability of Twins baseball and Provus's outstanding calls. We can't wait to hear Cory's thoughts on the new TV setup, his experiences in year one in the TV booth, and his expectations for the 2025 Twins. 11. The custom-designed pint glass has become a staple of the annual Winter Meltdown event, serving as a takeaway memento and cherished collectible for all attendees. Each year, the graphic is meant to reflect the current vibes of the Twins team and its fanbase, from last year's design celebrating the end of the playoff losing streak to the previous year's less-joyful injury-ward depiction. This year, we naturally had to riff on the sale of the team and payroll restrictions from an ownership group that's been crying poor. And that's not all! We still have our two biggest announcements to share soon: the two special guests who will join us for on-stage interviews before hanging out with and meeting the Twins Daily community. Expect plenty of baseball chatter, camaraderie, and excitement as we count down to the start of the 2025 season! Get Tickets This exclusive event has always been in high demand, and with only 200 tickets available this year, securing one won't be easy. As a Caretaker, you'll receive one free ticket to the Meltdown and the option to purchase up to three additional tickets for just $20 each. If we have any leftover tickets (we did not last year), we'll make them available for $60 apiece to the general public. Joining Twins Daily's Caretakers starts at just $4/month. Not only will you support our passionate writers, moderators, and tech team, but you'll also gain access to exclusive content and other great benefits. We'd LOVE to have you as part of the community! Become a Caretaker here! Already a Caretaker? Thank you! Don't wait to secure your ticket—demand is high, and we'll likely sell out even with tickets limited to Caretakers and their guests. 13. Caffrey's Deli and Subs will be providing a buffet of their excellent subs for just $10 apiece at the Winter Meltdown on Sat. Jan. 25, from 4-7 PM. You'll be hungry (and thirsty) after TwinsFest. For just $10, Caffrey's will bring a table full of the best-selling subs, including the Middle-Class Sub, the Lake Street Italian, the PC, and their pasta and potato salad. It could not be more convenient. You'll just stroll less than a block away from Target Field to Underground Music Venue, eat some Caffrey's subs, sip on a couple of free craft beers from BlackStack Brewing, listen to Aaron Gleeman and John Bonnes interview our special Twins guests (announced next week), talk Hot Stove with other Twins fans, and go home with our 2025 Winter Meltdown Pint glass… …which we'll unveil tomorrow! Brock Beauchamp's annual designs originally featured winter activities, but have evolved to comment on the Twins' previous season, whether successful or rough. They have become collector items, but you can only get one at the Meltdown. What will it be this year? Stop by tomorrow to see, but first, DO NOT WAIT to grab your tickets. The Winter Meltdown is an absolute no-brainer for any Twins fan, which is why we've had as many as 600 guests some years. With only 200 tickets available this year, securing one won't be easy. Your best bet is to become (or know) a Twins Daily Caretaker, because we hve special care for our Caretakers—since they take care of Twins Daily. As a Caretaker, you'll receive one free ticket to the Meltdown and the option to purchase up to three additional tickets for just $20 each. If we have any leftover tickets (we did not last year, and it looks like we won't this year), we'll sell them to the general public for $60 apiece. Joining Twins Daily's Caretakers starts at just $4/month. Not only will you support our passionate writers, moderators, and tech team, but you'll also gain access to exclusive content and other great benefits. We'd LOVE to have you as part of the community! 14. We're an independent site that provides independent coverage, hosts an independent event, and serves independent craft beer. So, how about we partner with the premier independently owned deli and sub shop for the Winter Meltdown? That's a good idea. Caffrey's Deli and Subs will be providing a buffet of their excellent subs for just $10 apiece at the Winter Meltdown on Saturday, 1/25, from 4-7 PM. Brock Beauchamp's annual designs originally featured winter activities but have evolved to comment on the Twins' previous season, whether successful or rough. Securing one with only 200 tickets available this year won't be easy. Your best bet is to become (or know) a Twins Daily Caretaker because we care for our Caretakers since they take care of Twins Daily. Become a Caretaker here! Already a Caretaker? Thank you! Don't wait to secure your ticket—demand is high, and we'll likely sell out even with tickets limited to Caretakers and their guests. 15. Yes, that means if you can grab a ticket (see below), you'll get two free beers to sip as we meet and greet our Twins special guests (announced next week) from your free Twins Daily Winter Meltdown Pint Glass (announced Friday). You can choose between their most renowned beers: their Local 755 New England IPA or the Slopes French Pilsner. We're stoked to include BlackStack's beer in the Meltdown. Local craft breweries can be known for location, environment, and variety, but BlackStack is known for its outstanding, intentionally crafted beer. Previously, that beer was limited to a few places outside its taproom, but now it is distributed all around greater Minnesota. Look for its distinctive cans wherever you buy beer… OR, just come to the Meltdown! In addition to their two free beers, you'll also get all of the following: Aaron Gleeman and John Bonnes will interview at least two guests on stage, who will also visit with our community. 16. Twins Daily has always supported local craft beer. (Some nights, we admit we have supported it too much.) Since the Meltdown started in 2012, we've served two local craft beers to every guest. We've outdone ourselves this year by adding BlackStack Brewing as our official beer sponsor. 21. We had an unforgettable time watching the Twins secure another thrilling, down-to-the-wire victory at the Twins Daily Social Club Watch Party at Gluek’s Tuesday night. The atmosphere was electric, and the energy from the crowd made it a night to remember. Fans, both loyal regulars and first-timers, came together to celebrate, cheer, and revel in the excitement of the game. It was incredible to connect with so many passionate Twins supporters in such an iconic Minneapolis setting! The sense of community was palpable as soon as we walked through the doors of Gluek’s, a venue that has been synonymous with great food, refreshing drinks, and welcoming hospitality. We set out to create an evening full of good vibes, and we’re happy to say that we delivered! But, of course, none of it would have been possible without all of you who showed up, brought the energy, and kept the Twins talk flowing well into the night. Whether it was reliving some of the greatest moments from past seasons, discussing the team’s current form, or debating strategies for the next game, the conversation was as lively as the action on the screen. We’d also like to give a huge shoutout to Gluek’s for being the perfect host, and to our amazing sponsors: Sotastick and DJ Glove Repair. Their support helped make the evening extra special, and we’re grateful for their contributions to making this event such a success. Of course, no event like this is complete without a few fun surprises, and last night was no exception! We handed out some incredible prizes to a few lucky winners, and the excitement over the giveaways was one of the highlights of the night. Among the prizes were some uniquely awesome hats from Sotastick that had everyone talking. Gluek’s gift cards were also up for grabs, giving the winners a chance to enjoy more of Gluek’s fantastic offerings on their next visit. And the grand prize? A beautifully refurbished glove signed by none other than two Twins legends—Tony Oliva and Bert Blyleven, both Hall of Famers. It was a true collector’s item, and the excitement when it was announced was contagious! Whether we’re gathering at another local bar or catching a game at Target Field, we look forward to sharing more unforgettable moments with you throughout the rest of the season. View full article
