Escobar clearly took command of shortstop, will he continue to hit? Not at that rate for sure..but at least he gives you the possibility of making contact...

Kris Johnson? No Way.. Wait for Jose....

CF? I really like Fuld but History suggests...He will falter...Trade a AA prospect for established CF? I certainly wouldnt put all my eggs in The Buxton Basket

How long will Nolasco be allowed to damage twins? I think the answer is for a long time. He looked terrible today. Last year Gardy continued to pitch Worley, even though it was apparent that meant a certain loss. So hopefully Mrs. Colabellos son will keep saving these pitchers but how long can that last?

    Col..will slump sometime..then ruh roh...

Gardy might just be as stupid as a fox. First if you have read my posts in the past, you know I am the President of the Sam Deduno fan club..(is there one?)

First you have all this money in starting Rotation and you have Gibson who surprisingly has performed very well..but you also know Deduno is filthy and can beat ANY body..yes, Yankees you heard me right!...

As much as I love Deduno, I have to admit a problem with him Late in the last two seasons.he has come up lame...so how do you keep him on the roster.pitch him occasionally but not wear him out? You guessed it and..you know.. ole Gardy might just have gotten us on this one!

When Bartlett was just coming up and had talent, Gardenhire constantly jerked his chain, he couldnt do anything right, Bartlett proved he could play with the Rays...and now, a washed up Bartlett who cant play, makes the team....oh well give those kids some at bats in the minors..I guess...

Thats what I would do if I were Sam What else has he got to do? He was the teams best starter last year he would be no worse than number 2 this year..

AND Gibson was horrible last year, only hype saved him. I dont get this, I guess the bright light is..Deduno is in the bull pen for one reason, when there is a hiccup in the rotation and there will be..Sam will be there to save us again.

I think K Gibson is the most overhyped over rated prospect I am aware of in the Twins system. I kept hearing all these reports, Gibson is ready, when we bring him up..he will stay..etc..

Truthfully, he was terrible and for him to have a chance at the major leagues..something has to change and radically

Obviously you want Joe in the lineup wherever you can get him. The problem is he is playing the one position we can reserve for far less talented players.

Colabello should come North, but where do you play him? Yes he can DH, but why wouldnt you put Mauer in the outfield or 3b, talk about competition for Plouffe...Another issue now with Sanos arm, can he play 3b? He might have to play first...yes I keep Joe in line up no matter what, but we are wasting him at 1b

First I will say AGAIN, Deduno is the best starter on this team. Nolasco might be as good, Hughes certainly isnt, what the Twins really should do, is dump Correia, can a Diamond, Gibson, Gilmartin, Johnson choice be worse than Correia? I highly doubt it...yes there would be uncertainty but you prefer an automatic loss?

Wow...you are a real twins fans, you listen to every snippet you can, you come to twinsdaily multiple times a day, slide over to twinsbaseball.com out of desperation....you can never get enough Twins Baseball..then whatever you do, listen TO Hangouts with Seth...and Im sorry I dont know the other guys name, but THEY TALK BASEBALL!! Congrats guys, love your show! Cant wait for the next one!

Recently I complained about GATG and their lack of baseball, so I downloaded their recent podcast. Dont bother, it was wayyy worse than the one I complained about. I wonder what their goal is, comedy? ouch...Cant be baseball, remotely touched on...my advice to you, watch for Seths podcast or any other but GATG unless you for some reason need to listen to senseless drivel....avoid or completely waste your time. I am aware that Bonnes can ban me and you never have the benefit of my opinion again..but here is my dissent...

Should the twins pursue Arencibia, catcher non tendered by the Blue Jays?

He would be cheap, he has power or do you like Salty...better?

If we sign Arencibia...then you have a veteran presence...and Pinto plays the most...isnt that what we want?

After my blog complaining bitterly about gatg and their non baseball talk, their last episode was what I want and very enjoyable. I still dont like the drinking references..but it was much improved.

The next Free agent the twins should sign is Mike Pelfrey. His second half last year was very good. Before the FA signings I said Pelfrey should be number one, now here is what I want the Rotation to Look like.....
    Nolasco
    Deduno
    Hughes
    Correia
    Pelfrey

That is a competitive rotation and should give us drastic improvement.

For those of you waiting with great anticipation about where the best beer in the Cities is or what the social behavior of Bonnes and Gleeman is going to be, look no further just download the GATG episodes. For me, I am sick of them, I have no desire to listen to two drunks give their opinions on night life in twin cities or their drinking habits they are so proud of. Please Twins fans recommend other podcasts that are really filled with Twins content, I wont be going back to the circus named, GATG.

First what is good about the Twins?
1 Middle infield Florimon and Dozier....No change needed, Florimon needs to hit more but if he doesnt his defense warrants his inclusion

2 3b- Plouffe didnt have great numbers but I think his hitting is passable...we dont have to make a change here...I would like to see Mauer trained to play 3rd...also Mauer in outfield....would be great, can he play center? I wouldnt bet against him..he certainly can be a lead off hitter

3- C -Pinto says it all, but can he last, can he keep it up? He will slump for sure, but seems like the long term solution...

4 Of - Arcia is obvious but does not appear to have stamina at this point...

but the OF is major weakness...Might consider a free agent here....

The way to rebuild the Twins is to sign TWO of the best Starting Pitchers after the Top Tier Signs....

Next Years Rotation....Pelfrey, Free Agent, Deduno, Free Agent, Correia

That would be a good rotation and give us a chance to compete, while our minor leaguers mature...

I read post after post about the projected rotation for Twins in 2014, many exclude Deduno entirely or at least have him at number 4. Cmon folks, quit listening to the experts, trust your eyes, Deduno has GREAT stuff, don't believe it, ask Gardy...

Any other pitcher who didn't pitch like Deduno, would be praised and hailed as savior of Twins pitching, but because his style is o unorthodox, he is like a fastballing knuckleballer.....we (twins nation) have to rely on other peoples opinions to assess him. Forget them, Deduno is a very good pitcher, however the last two years he has faded at about the same time...both because of INJURY....

I feel similarly about Pelfrey....I know his record, but for a guy just coming off Tommy John he was really quite qood..in fact I have him next year at top of Rotation excepting signing of free agent...

    here is my rotation...
    Free Agent
    Pelfrey
    Deduno
    Free Agent
    Correa

Last word on Deduno is this, the World Champion Dominican Republic....chose him as their ace...why, because he was their best pitcher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Major League
    ready -1b, of, or SS

    Choice of 2aa prospect
    and A Prospect

What do you think? One thing I wouldnt do is take pitching unless there was a guy that blew me away...(twins have invested heavily in pitching in drafts and trades, now build the rest of the team
  18. huhguy
    Gardy resigning?
Ryan actually giviing up actual value for a trade?
    Too many rookies playing?
    Mauer retiring?
    Morneau traded?

No much more strange than these...ready?

    Ok, here goes...

We have a Decent Starting Rotation!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you think we could ever say that this year?
  19. huhguy
The fact that GH did not lose this team is incredible, 10 straight losses, horrible starting pitching, lack of clutch hitting, I too have had my doubts about GH, but this year he has been excellent.

Keep Gardy as long as he wants to stay, he deserves it
