  1. While many talk about Royce Lewis and Buxton being made of glass I worry more about the delicate back issues that Lee has. That injury could reoccur many times over during his career which may further limit his effectiveness.
  2. I recall that a couple of years ago he mentioned that he didn’t like doing batting practice so he quit doing it. I often wonder if he still is avoiding it. If so, maybe he should reconsider.
  3. The Twins wanted their players to be hitters this year and shoot for the fences and try to anticipate the pitch that was coming which in the end produced a team with a record number of strikeouts. Lewis admitted at one point that he started to ignore that philosophy and instead decided to just try to get a hit by swinging the bat at what pitch he saw coming, not what pitch he thought might be coming. The results speak for themselves.
  4. There sure are a lot of arm chair doctors here explaining exactly the issues Buxton is having with his knee in great detail (bone on bone, etc) without examining his knee in person. I suggest he has it looked at by professionals and have what needs to be done to make it better if possible. If there is nothing that can be done (I don’t feel knee replacement is an option for a professional athlete) then he should retire.
  5. Maybe this would be the same mistake of giving up Gio Urshela and expecting Jose Miranda to fill in that spot but what about trading Polanco for some players and play Royce Lewis at third. I am wary of Polanco at the corner because of his side arm throw he used as SS to first base was not always powerful enough. How do they expect him to play the corner position?
