    Hit's like those plus good defense is why I think Mauer still has a pretty decent chance at the Hall of Fame. I figure it's gonna take 2500 hits or more but if he plays 4 more years he will be right there.

    I'm all for a fair bash of any player if it's based on something, but in baseball predicting a batter will make an out with tired old shots that don't really apply this year get old. You could have said the same thing about Ted Williams in his prime and be right the vast majority of the time.

    I know but if he was able to do that he would be one of the best players in baseball. Nothing wrong with high expectations but guys are gonna have flaws in their game.

    He needs about 575 more hits but his play at first is great, I could easily see him playing another 4 or 5 years

    Is it to much to ask that the home plate umpire doesn't flip balls to the mound when the batter is standing right in front of him. That ball must of missed Buxtons head by less then 3 inches.

    I do like to look at pretty minor league stats over ugly ones even for players that never make it so in that sense we already won the meaningless element of the trade.

    Lets do this every year heck lets do this every week. We still haven't traded anyone off the Twins roster and yet have improved or at least seem to have. Even if neither of these guys ever amount to half the major league player Garcia was this was a great move.

    Kohl Stewart has given up 1 or zero runs in 5 of his last 6 and the 6 was a "quality start" Probably hasn't recovered the trade value but not a guy you want to lose.
