  1. Both struggled in spring training.
  2. Robertson and Roenicke are not much better than those two.
  3. Hendriks has not made much improvement this year. I predict he is going to be another Blackburn this year.
  4. He has a better stuff than De Vries? His straight fast ball and hittable slider? His only advantage is he has success in the minors. The reason he is still on major league roster is because he has nothing to prove in the minor. I don't think he earns the spot like De Vries.
  5. The fact that it took him 20 starts to get a win in the major league level made me believe he would not have much success in the major league. Why on earth would you believe Hendriks' ability? He has shown very little. Deduno has the stuff to be successful as we all saw from WBC. De Vries could work the corners, he had some success last season and he had an awesome spring.
  6. Hendriks is not going to have success in the major league level. Gibson and Meyer are not ready yet. I would give Hernandez and Walters a chance to compete a spot in the rotation though.
  7. I doubt Hendriks is going to be effective in the major league. I have high hope for De Vries, Deduno and Hernandez though. I also think Walters has a chance to be successful as a long reliever/ spot starter in the major league.
  8. Would he be outrighted for having an ERA of 0 in Spring? Would he be outrighted for being a lefty starter? Hell no.
  9. "The whipping boy needs to be someone on the bench who gets more playing time than he deserves." Clearly it should be Florimon, not Mastroianni who is having an excellent spring, not Escobar who is a utility guy. Escobar is young, he can play multiple position including catching and hits better than Florimon. Escobar is also having a better spring than Florimon.
  10. I really don't think it's going to be Hernandez since he had an excellent spring and he is a lefty starter.
  11. Walters is still in good position, remember he had an ERA of 0 in 11 innings before the outing. Robertson is a lefty, he still has a chance. I really believe Hernandez should be the lefty in the bullpen other than Duensing and Perkins.
  12. I would like to see Florimon sent down to the minor and Hernandez be called up to get the last spot in the bullpen, PJ Walters and Petro Hernandez should be the last two for the bullpen spot. Robertson and Burnett are horrible, Roeniche is not good, Fien isn't that good either. When Deduno gets healthy, he should be the long reliever/6th starter. He could replace the worst pitcher in the bullpen. De Vries has earned the spot in the rotation.
  13. I agree with you Benson should not be on the major league roster. However I have a hard time to find any difference between Escobar and Florimon except that Escobar has hit better than Florimon in the spring. I really don't understand why people are so high on Florimon, he is clearly the Butera in the middle infield. Btw, is his defense really that good?
  14. Agreed. However I believe Hernandez has earned a spot in the bullpen. Fien would be the 7th or 8th man in the bullen.
  15. I totally agree, we don't need another Butera in the outfield since we have one as the catcher and another one as the middle infielder. Enough is enough.
  16. Starters: De Vries, Diamond, Pelfrey, Correia, Worley (Deduno would be the 6th starter or long reliever) Bullpen: Perkins, Burton, Duensing, Hernandez, Pressly, Walters, Deduno. (Fien would be the extra)
  17. Both Hendriks and DeVries look good this spring. I believe at least one of them could make the rotation.
  18. Duensing should be used situationally as a lefty specialist, he is a good reliever a BAD starter. I guess Gardenhire never learns. That's just one of the many reasons why Gardenhire should be let go.
  19. Harden is not going to get a rotation spot right after spring training. Pelfrey might not be ready. Cole DeVries has a chance to make the rotation. Gibson and Hendriks should make the rotation.
  20. I really don't think Blackburn and Florimon should be on major league roster.
  21. What happens if Joe benson,Chris Parmelee and Mr.hicks are not ready for prime time? Likely. What if Darren Mastroanni isnt a full time player? Very likely. What if Josh Willingham is the best defensive outfielder we have in 2013? Very unlikely. What if Terry is wrong about Florimon and Dozier can not handle shortstop? I am not sure about what you meant, I think Dozier has a better chance at succeeding at that position, Florimon is just a waste of roster spot. What if bone chips in fact are a precurser to tommy john surgery, and both Scott Diamonds and Worely are done for the season by June? Very unlikely. What if Harden and Pelfrey both imitate Zumyaya and never make it out of spring training? It's unlikely it would happen for both though. What if klank Ploufe continues to have a stone hands? Very likely. What if as most predict Correias ERA translates into the low 5.00s in the A.L.? Very likely. What if Nick Blackburn is our best starter? Very unlikely, it's hard to find anyone worse. It's going to be long season ahead.
  22. Pelfrey has more upside than Blackburn, Correia only. Hendriks and DeVries are younger. Duensing is a good bullpen guy and he is a lefty. Deduno has some good stuff, he could be effectively wild at times.
  23. Liriano can dominate at times and has phenomenal stuff as well. He even had a no-hitter in the ML level, that would prove he could be virtually unhittable sometimes. Deduno still needs to prove himself. I like Deduno, but he still needs to be consistent and be able to find the strikezone in order to have any success in the ML.
