Cool, I see why we should not give up on anyone. But can we at least drop him from our list until he produces, then immediately put him in an appropriate spot?
Well he is already 22, but he projected to OUT-HOMER Sano if he had played the full season. Can't see how he isn't going to be successful moving to A+ with other MLB-caliber hitters in Rosario and Sano.
Okay...i understand now. In my opinion...we start Benson in CF with Mastro being the 4th OF....I guess we have no choice but to start a 1B in RF this year. Young is a DH for sure, But I thought Cuddyer was slightly above average defensively in RF. No?
Ortiz does not belong in the top-30. I mean, you didn't include Tyler Duffey, Josmil Pinto, DJ Baxendale, AJ Achter, Zach Jones, Corey Williams, etc. But DID include Ortiz? Ortiz probably won't ever make it out of AA, but he's a top-30 guy for you?
HA! Yes, David Arias was wayyy better than the Twins could perceive. As for the title and how it pertains to the article......If you read the Kennys Vargas quip, I compare his "look" to Big Papi....now do you see the correlation?
OK, I LOVE Vargas at #12...that's gutsy. I had people telling me he was not top-20. But, why can't we expect Jorge Polanco to hit well as he advances?? Just your opinion? Zachary Jones is NOT in your top-30?? Whoa...he is gonna impress you this year. You'll be like, "what was I thinking dissing Jones?" In my opinion, Jones is better than your 25-30.
I am not really liking comparing Berrios to any lefties, or anyone that weighs 200 lbs or greater. Maybe you can compare stats, but I am talking more about what he looks like on the mound and his "stuff." I don't know. I admitted the Timmy comparison was not fair, or great for that matter. Let me see.....
I would have to agree with those that think it is a big improvement to sign early rather than skipping out on rookie ball because of contract negotiations.
I had to include Colabello for the reasons listed in my article. He is "on the cusp" by being in AA last year, and most of my list is guys that were in A+ or lower last year. So he was a perfect fit at 20, and I am hoping we make some trades to get him a shot while we wait for Sano or Harrison or Vargas to take over at 1B in 2015 or whatever. Sooooo, he is a prospect, with a shot to be a 30-31-yr-old rookie in Minnesota. Or is there an age limit to being a baseball prospect?
Completely agree. Sano could have Mark Reynolds numbers or he could develop into a miguel cabrera MVP-type. Gibson is repaired and effective, but Meyer easily has more upside. Just think what we could get in trade for Meyer compared to what we'd get for Gibson. I think Eddie is going to surprise this year and move up
That needs to be very open-ended because Morneau and Willingham do not have static value. They will either be more or less valuable when/if they are dealt than they are now. So "pitching" is the objective, but a solid minor league shortstop would be awesome in trade for M & W
