  1. Alright I'm not wading thru 9 pages of posts but I get the gist is that fans are upset of drafting Tyler Jay #6 overall and the team is turning him into a power reliever instead of as a starter. Is that right? Okay. Well the same guys aren't running the organization that thought he was a potential starting pitcher. In fact quite a few if not the majority of baseball minds thought of Jay as a shutdown reliever not as a starter, and it looks like Levine and Falvey are in the same boat. I actually find this kind of funny as Mike Berardino and I were talking about Jay (and a few others) going to the pen eventually and building a superpen. We both agreed Jay has a better two pitch combo than pretty much anyone else currently in the Twins relief corps but might as well let him fail as a SP for a year or two following the "let them fail first as a SP before turning them into RP" philosophy that most go thru. Falvey and Levine don't agree and see Ty Jay as an asset that can help a lot sooner (mid 2017 or start of 2018) than he would as a starter if he ever did turn out as a starter.
  2. Over 105 prospect autographs at this point in the Handbook, had to go to an opposite list of who I don't have to make it easier. As of right now, think I'm down to 32 prospects (mainly pitchers) who haven't signed yet that are still with the organization.
  3. Usually I'm out there Friday mornings before I go the office (I'll be the one in the dress shirt and tie) and Saturday for most of the day. Sunday's are hit and miss depending on how much housework the wife makes me do.
  4. I haven't got a chance to see them in game action, this morning-afternoon I'll be out on the backfields watching Rochester and Chattanooga practicing and take on the Orioles AAA and AA clubs. Of the players on the current CR roster, Shane Carrier hits the ball really hard, there is some swing and miss to his game as his contact isn't the greatest but when he gets a hold of it it's going to go far. I'm also quite partial to Jaylin Davis, he's a similar player to Carrier offensively with below average contact and plus power. Davis should be on the Twins MiLB homerun leaders' list. On the mound, Eddie del Rosario looked good in the pen for whatever that means to you, and he's someone to watch this year as is the big man Tyler Wells. He might be one of the tallest guys in camp but he's not the stringbean 6'8 type pitcher as he's got weight and muscle on his frame and he's quite athletic.
  5. Work Groups per 3/9, they've changed since then, I'll have a new one posted later tonight or tomorrow
  6. aircast boot, the top of his foot is black and blue as he hyperextended the tibialis posterior. He told me his cleat got stuck near a ledge and basically overinverted (rolled) his ankle. He said he felt fine, there was no pain with movement/AROM, the team was worried because if he continued to play on it, it would make a stress reaction on the cuboid more likely.
  7. I'm not sure if he's pushed a timeline but keep an eye on Travis Blankenhorn, he's shed that babyweight and has added "man muscles" to his frame. He's also been fielding at 2B and 3B early on in camp. I won't be shocked if he gets to Ft Myers at some point this season.
