  1. I'm trying to think of a player on this team, pitchers not included, that has been worse than Dozier in an overall sense. I can't think of one.
  2. Dozier is frustrating. You can certainly accept a little bit of the standard explanations they've been using, but the inconsistency in the field has been a concern. A ground ball is a ground ball, and a throw to first base is a throw to first base no matter what level you play. He has botched way too many plays this year,, and the Twins shouldn't think they've got the answer for the next ten years out there just yet.
  3. Ryan has shown that he just isn't adept at the "flyer" approach to FA. Guys like Carrol, Willingham, and Doumit don't fit into that description. Nishi and Zumaya certainly do. When he gets the wild hair to do something out of the box like that again, someone should grab the phone from his hand and shuffle him out to the golf course so he can clear his head.
  4. Liriano was worth the trouble and the money. It's not like the Twins are ever going to have pitchers even a little better than him (talent-wise) walking through the door every day. The Twins coaching staff, Gardy in particular, seems to have a resistance to attempting to coach mercurial players. Their track record indicates they will gladly trade away talent for something low maintenance and of lesser quality.
  5. Yep. All of what you said. Though with the kind of money he usually budgets for FA pitching, there is a good chance the Twins wind up with another Marquis, so get ready for that.
