    and kab, you are helping me make my point-which i often have difficulty doing by myself if there was a rule that stated a team could carry only 10 pitchers, maybe 11 there would be so much less time wasted by pitching changes and warm up time one of the biggest gripes people have against the game is the length of a 9 inning game i would rather see a batter hit than the third or fourth pitcher of an inning take his seven warm up throws

    i shouldn't have said relief pitchers you'd need one more starter and probably, maybe not, one more long reliever maybe not--if the abused starters were used as the long reliever you needed in my opinion pitchers are being put on a pedistal ladies dig the long ball....

    good god!! that would mean adding 1 or 2 more relief pitchers so teams only carry 10 or 11 position players??? everybody is concerned about tommy john surgery, well throw fewer breaking balls and use a change-up to enhance the fastball did bert have tommy john surgery?? did maddux? hell, did wilbur wood? end of rant
