  1. Hicks needs time in AAA. How anyone can pencil in Benson after the year he had last year is beyond me. I predict that Darin Mastroianni, although a fourth outfielder at best, will be starting come opening day.
  2. The Twins are all talk, outside of Pavano (and that's questionable as he was on the downside of his career), when's the last time the Twins signed a quality free agent. It's becoming increasingly frustrating being a Twins fan.
  3. 2 years for $15.5? And that's out of the Twins price range? That says a lot about the Twins. Bargain basement here we come!
  4. Even if the starting rotation is solidified, they've got holes at 2B, SS, 3B, CF and even DH. I predict another 90 loss season. They've definitely punted on 2013, come to grips with it already.
  5. I predict a lot of continued posturing by the Twins, followed by a few low ball offers that they know will not be nearly enough to entice any of the top talent (via trade or free agency), followed by a few "well, we tried" statements, and in the end they will end up with a mediocre bottom of the rotation starter or two that will excite nobody. Hopefully, they prove me wrong, but based upon past history I'm not counting on it.
  6. Someone refresh my memory, when was the last time the Twins made a good trade?
  7. Here's the MiLB report on Goodrum. http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120630&content_id=34245970&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_milb
  8. Ok, someone educate me. How does Jorge Soler get $30M over 9 years from the Cubs if there's a cap set at $2.9M for international players?
  9. Nice. I take it he's in Minnesota. Do you suppose he'll take batting practice with the team tomorrow?
  10. Mid-bottom (3-5) of the rotation starter, nothing wrong with that though (unless your rotation consists of 5 of those guys), you need 5 starters
  11. I'd rather see them give up on his switch hitting.
  12. Thanks! Good to see. I'm happy for him.
  13. If they wanted a college arm I would have thought Pierce Johnson.
  14. I know they need pitching, but after watching Brian Dozier the last couple of days, how about Deven Marrero?
  15. Seattle passes on him too, I think the Boras thing is holding him back some now.
  16. I'm not quite sure how they'd sell that to Astros fans. Perhaps they are just trying to drive Appel's price down.
  17. Might be a fair comparison if not for Tate's drug issues.
  18. 1. Houston Astros - Mark Appel SP Stanford 2. Minnesota Twins - Byron Buxton OF HS Georgia 3. Seattle Mariners - Carlos Correa SS Puerto Rico 4. Baltimore Orioles - Kevin Gausman SP LSU 5. Kansas City Royals - Kyle Zimmer SP San Francisco 6. Chicago Cubs - Albert Almora - OF - HS Florida 7. San Diego Padres - Max Fried SP HS California 8. Pittsburgh Pirates - Mike Zunino C Florida 9. Miami Marlins - Courtney Hawkins OF HS Texas 10. Colorado Rockies - David Dahl - OF HS Alabama
  19. Doesn't the fact that Scott Boras represent Mark Appel pretty much rule him out at #2 if Houston passes on him?
