It was my junior year of college. I lived in a house with 6 other dudes. My identical twin lived in the same house (we went to school in Michigan) so we sat in the living room, and we watched it together. My girlfriend had dumped me a few weeks prior so I really needed the Twins to pick me up. My girlfriend and I got back together in November of 2004, and she has been my wife for almost 17 years, together for almost 19, and the parents of two daughters (8 and ^). She knew of the losing streak but didn't put it together that it predated our relationship. Crazy.

I picked him up during my fantasy-team draft for $1. I now know what the Vikes felt like when they got Cris Carter!

I've never understood booing a player who isn't a d-bag. Booing Beckett? Sure, his personality is combative. Booing A-Rod. Ok, he's condescending, and has an oil painting of himself in some hybrid-animal form. (May be a rumor.) Mauer? Why? Because we're paying to see him? No one cares more about his performance than he does. I'm just a fan. I pay the money whether they rock or they suck. Plus, I live in Metro Detroit so seeing them is a treat that only comes 3-4 times a year.
