  1. 6/1/20: Tampa Bay Rays (33-28) @ Minnesota Twins (37-23) 7:10pmCT Moving Forward My goal of this project was only to go until real baseball began. If this proposal is accepted we will deliver games up until the day before real baseball is brought back including simming to the postseason to show a tease of what the real team could bring. Hoping proposal is passed but regardless just wanted to quick update everyone what the plans are. Catch-up The Twins end the month of May riding higher than they have all season, an 19-9 record, multiple players near the tops of the All-Star ballot, and tonights starter in Jose Berrios coming back to form will make for a fun month of June. Also "Big Mike," returns on Wednesday! Pre-game 6:45pmCT Where to watch. Virtual Twins Network AL Central Standings 1. Twins 37-23 2. Indians 32-29 3. Royals 31-29 4. White Sox 27-33 5. Bomba Tracker - 2020: 107 - 2019 through 60 games: 111 Storylines It's our 4th "Ace Off," of the year as Jose Berrios squares off this time against one of the best in the business, the 2018 Cy Young winner in Blake Snell (21-5, 1.89 ERA, 5.6 H/9, 221 K's in 31 starts). We're going to find out a lot about these Twins this week. Playing the Rays who as of now are 1.5 out of the Wild Card, and then hosting the Angels who are first in the Wild Card and those Angels took 2 out of 3 in LA in the first week of May. Again I want to say that this ends immediately when real baseball comes back and one of the things I wanted to do when that date arrived was sim this virtual season to the end to give us a taste of what this team could do come November or December or whenever this proposed season would end.
  2. Catch-up Six lead changes, our 2nd extra innings game in three days, and a raid from the real Trevor May checking in on the Virtual Twins. Bomba Tracker - 2020: 105 - 2019 through 59 games: 108 Storylines Reynaldo Lopez hasn't necessarily lit up the scoreboard against Minnesota this season, but he has been decent only allowing 2 ER in each start and going 5.0 IP and Chicago will lean on him to take the series for the first time this season over Minnesota today. The Twins have to ask which Kenta Maeda they are getting today. Averaging 4.2 IP and with the ERA ballooning from 1.78 a couple starts ago to 3.19 now, the Twins need a bounceback game to take the series before heading home to Target Field for a homestand with the Rays and Angels. Today ends the Twins best month of the year currently 18-9 in the month of May and Chicago having just lost their best winning streak of the year, 5 games, the final game of this series should be a good one!
  3. A crazy game but my favorite moment of the year, the Actual Trevor May raids the stream to check on how the Virtual Twins are doing. https://clips.twitch.tv/SpinelessSuperTitanSwiftRage
  4. 5/30/20: Minnesota Twins (35-23) @ Chicago White Sox (27-31) 1:10pmCT Catch-up We had a Grand Slam from Encarnacion, we had a position player pitching for the first time all season in Miguel Sano, and we had a barn burner in game one that went the way of Chicago 15-6. Today's game happens to fall on a Saturday, where the Twins are 8-1 this season and must really prove a point that it's their favorite day of the week. Feels like we say this everytime, but the unlikely hero of the season for Minnesota will toot the rubber again in Homer Bailey. We've boasted over his stats earlier in this post but he's out for some revenge here in game two as Bailey had one of his worst starts of the year his last time out against Chicago (5.2 IP, 4 H, 3ER, 2 BB, 4 K's). My whole goal of this project has been to try and provide entertainment and your daily fix of baseball at a time where we so desperately miss it. With all that is going on in Minneapolis right now, we will try and lift your spirits and provide a fun distraction to your otherwise stressful afternoon.
  5. 5/29/20: Minnesota Twins (35-22) @ Chicago White Sox (26-31) 7:10pmCT Catch-up Chicago finished off their road trip with a 4 game sweep over Baltimore and now begin a home-stand against the Twins for the third time this season (Twins winning previous two series, 4-2 overall against Chicago this season). Bomba Tracker - 2020: 98 - 2019 through 57 games: 105 Storylines It's the third series of the year between these two AL Central foes and both clubs are coming in 5-2 in each of their last 7 games. So some good baseball being played for the past week should result in a great series in the windy city. While Mitch Garver has had a rough stretch the past 4 games, Eloy Jimenez has not, batting .411, 3 HR, 6 RBI and 5 XBH during that stretch and is looking to add more firepower tonight now leading baseball in HR's. For Rondon, it's been two quiet starts against Minnesota this year, both totaling 5.0 IP, 2 ER, and a No Decision. For Jake Odorizzi it's only been one start where he went 5.0 IP, and 2 ER, but he's lacked consistency for the whole season it feels like. In the month of May Odo has made 5 starts, is 1-1 in 23.1 IP with a 6.62 ERA.

His last start against NYY in the ALDS he went 2.0IP, 6H, 4ER, 2BB, and the lose. Tonight Dobnak is coming off back to back 7.0IP shutout performances and has earned his spot in the rotation, now trying to defeat his old foe. 2. The Twins have already done something historic beating the Yankees in New York (hadn't been done since 2014), but now with the sweep today, it would net the Twins the first of its kind since 1968. (Credit u/mightyminnesota for the stats via Baseball Reference). 3. In his career Paxton is 3-1 with a 2.27 ERA against Minnesota (Only 0.16 off of his current 2020 ERA) in 6 starts and is averaging 5.2 IP and should most assuredly be a formidable foe for Minnesota tonight.
  9. Moving forward this will house every game-thread in the comments below until real baseball hopefully comes back. I should have done this sooner and apologize for flooding the forums with posts daily.
  10. Key players like Max Scherzer speaking out certainly helps. I am more worried and curious about the state of minor league baseball moving forward with all those cuts Jeff Passan tweeted out earlier. Hopefully things continue to move forward.
  11. DOWN GOES NEW YORK! Jose Berrios on his birthday goes 7.0IP, 4H, a career high 14 K's, and 1 ER and although the Yankees rally, the Twins give him the best present of all, a Minnesota Twins win. Tonight Jose Berrios is celebrating his birthday in a battle against arguably the best pitcher in baseball right now in Gerrit Cole. Since 2013 the Twins have only won two series against New York and the latest being from September of 2018 and have a chance to make it three tonight. Yesterday's win snapped the active Yankees 4-game winning streak and the overall 5-game winning streak New York had over Minnesota. For the Twins to win again today they'll have to best Gerrit Cole in our third "Ace Off," of the year (1st Shane Beiber vs. Jose Berrios Indians won 15-2, 2nd Clayton Kershaw vs. Jose Berrios Twins won 4-2).

Outside of the HR's this series will also feature some of the best bullpens in baseball. Trevor May leads all AL qualified reliever's in ERA (0.39) and Aroldis Chapman leads the AL in saves (16). Last year the Yankees went 4-2 against the Twins in the regular season and we know how the ALDS went. A team that has for so long dominated the Twins, could this finally be the year the Twins defeat the Evil Empire? For the Twins to win they will be relying on some statistical providence heading into the match-up. Kenta Maeda, although averaging 4.1IP per start, is annihilating batters with an absurb K/9 of 13.70. And as u/mightyminnesota pointed out "An MVP catcher in Minnesota? Nah that's crazy talk." Twins fans have fond memories of Joe Mauer winning batting titles and an MVP but lest we forget about Garv Sauce. Slugging a league leading .705, he is currently in the top three of the early MVP poll.

On short rest, the Twins with an off-day tomorrow will lean on the American League leader in ERA to try and least finish 5 innings today and try to lead Minnesota to their 2nd series victory over Chicago this year. 2. Carlos Rodon's first start against Minnesota this year was good (5.0IP, 6H, 2ER, 2BB, 4K's) but he was bested by Kenta Maeda in a 4-1 victory for the Twins. Today Rodon looks to bounceback for the southside and even the series today. 3. The Twins will play the Chi Sox again next weekend but before that, they will do battle with the Evil Empire starting on Tuesday against the Yankees (39-14, 1st in AL East).

We spent a good amount of time talking about Lucas Giolito but now we turn to yet another great starter in Dallas Keuchel. This will now mark the 3rd starter in this series who is within the top 10 in ERA in the American League (Bailey and Giolitio the other two). 3. On paper yesterday's game did not look like a pitcher's duel but it ended up being great performances by both starters. Today, the paper clearly points toward a pitchers duel as the ace of each club toots the rubber for game two of the series, 2. In Chiacgo's last 14 games they have scored over 4 runs only 3 times. And the last time Chicago lost to Minnesota and had a chance to answer this season they beat the Twins 9-2 in Chicago, so expect a hearty pre-game preach from Renteria to try and light a fire in Chicago. 3. For Twins fans, Twingo will be returning Saturday and Sunday if no winners on Saturday.
  19. Catch-up The Twins rallied to tie the ballgame in the 9th inning with a Bomba from Kepler, but lose in extras on getaway day to the O's 4-3. Chicago has been playing some good baseball of late, going 6-4 in their last ten but Renteria's squad has an opportunity with a four game set here to maybe flirt the idea of a run for the division or at the very least a Wild Card berth (Currently 6.5GB of the Rays for spot #2).
  20. Catch-up If you were checking track at home, yesterday's game ended in very *Mark Buerhle-*esk action as the game only lasted 1hr and 20min. Storylines 1. The Twins will turn from their most reliable starter in Homer Bailey to their most questionable one in Kenta Maeda. Maeda is averaging 4 1/3IP per outing this year and those numbers has crunched even more in the month of May. The Twins are hoping the Kenta of April can return to his "ace," form (23.1IP, 10H, 4ER, 8BB, 42K's with a 1-1 record in 5 starts in May). 2. The recipe for success for Baltimore will be to work Kenta early and often and try to get another early exit and try and take getaway day. The O's are now 0-8 in their last meetings with Minnesota from 2019-2020 and will try and steal a game tonight.
  21. Catch-up After jumping out to an early 4-0 lead on the strength of home runs from Hays,Nunez, and Davis the O's looked primed to take down the Twins in game one. But behind a 2-Bomba day from Sano and some other clutch hitting the Twins pulled away 7-5 and are looking to take the series tonight. Despite all the hype around the Bomba Squad, lost in the shuffle is the season being had by Homer Bailey. Bailey leads the Twins staff in ERA and is atop the AL in ERA and WHIP making a push for an All-Star position. 2. The O's came into Target Field yesterday and quickly quieted the crowd going up early 4-0 and despite losing, that has to carry some momentum for the O's here in game two with the thought that the offense is potentially coming back around. 3. On the mound for the Orioles is the former Twin Kohl Stewart (4-3, 62.0IP, 33ER in two season with Minnesota, 6 starts).

After a non-televised game on Sunday the Twins returned to Target Field up 3 games in the AL Central looking to expand that lead. This is not the ideal start to said expansion. https://clips.twitch.tv/BigGloriousChinchillaDancingBananahttps://clips.twitch.tv/InspiringAlertSeahorseHumbleLifeAt this point if you told me the score would be 4-0 with three HR's I would've said how many does Sano have? Well none go the way of Minnesota and the O's are up early 4-0. And with a chance to add even more runs to the board, with two men aboard Chris Davis stepped to the plate in the 5th. https://clips.twitch.tv/RepleteKitschyLadiesDeIlluminatiA clutch performance from Romero out of the pen and the Twins strand a pair, as the broadcaster alluded to, hoping for the offense to wake up in the home half. https://clips.twitch.tv/EphemeralBlazingOryxRedCoaThe Twins would two more with an RBI triple from Buxton and a Sac-Fly RBI from Kepler and heading into the 6th inning the Twins were looking for more. https://clips.twitch.tv/PlausibleOutstandingLeopardTwitchRPGThe O's would eventually tie the ballgame back up in the top of the 8th and seemed like they would just not go away. So the Twins did what they do best against Baltimore, they hit Bombas. https://clips.twitch.tv/TameZanyCrabThisIsSpartahttps://clips.twitch.tv/BoxyBloodyDonkeyFrankerZFinal: Twins (29-19) WIN 7-5 over the Orioles (14-33) Game Two: 6:40pmCT

With the division lead down to two games, a big series from Cleveland in front of their home crowd could net Tito's Indians 1st, but on the other side of the coin Rocco's Twins could put themselves up in a big way with a good series this weekend. A lot of moving parts should be a fun series to watch! 2. Clevinger has not come back to his elite 2019 form and currently leads the Indians staff in loses after one of them came in Target Field back in mid-April. An important game to try and bounceback for Clevinger as the Indians try to cut down the Twins today. 3. Kepler and Polanco getting days will Marwin Gonzalez back in the lineup who hasn't seen playing time in a good while and also for the Twins the ever productive Ehire Adrianza gets game one as well off the bench.
  25. Catch-up Rocco's Twins were not going to make it three walk-offs in a row yesterday, as they thump the Tigers behind a Grand Slam from Polanco and a terrific outing by Randy Dobnak 7-1. Bomba Tracker - 2020: 69...nice - 2019 through 43 games: 78 Storylines After a terrific spot start by Randy Dobnak, Wes Johnson will have to ponder how he wants to handle the rotation going forward. For now Homer Bailey is back on the mound for Minnesota as an early Cy Young contender here in May. Michael Fulmer's first start against Minnesota here in 2020 was not bad by any stretch, but he was bested by Jhoulys Chacin and his best start of the year. In that game Fulmer went 5.0IP, 4H, 1ER, 3BB, and 7K's and will look to build on that performance tonight. The season series now split at 3-3. 4 of the 6 games have been decided by one run, there have been two walk-offs, and todays game should continue to live up to the hype. Gardy's Tigers set to square off against Rocco's Twins in a game that will decide the season series here in May.
