Shortly after he's released by the A's, new Twins roving baserunning coach Nick Punto will slide headfirst into the front office receptionist's desk at Target field, reporting for duties that include immediately imparting the Rules of Hustle to Hicksie...
Hey, take it easy on the guy, he grew up speaking Holland talk or something, plus how can he be expected to be spot on pronouncing the name of some obscure utility guy?
So close! Flint. Detroit is just to the right of Mount Doom. Actually no, MN. Think of Mordor as the impressionistic vision of my brown, disgusting, dog-poop encrusted "yard". The real image would not meet TD posting standards.
Thanks, glad you like it. Went years without one but decided that people were probably picturing me as something even less flattering than Buttermaker. Maybe some sort of nasty hybrid of the whiny Pvt. Hudson from Aliens with some Keaton-era Joker thrown in.

Wondered about his decision too. Tough call. This early in the game the tie breaker is probably to take the out and try to help your starter stay in the game. He probably remembered the runner but didn't realize how far he'd traveled and how hard it would be to throw out the runner. At least it was a close play.
