High leverage situational hitting will ultimately make or break opinion on Sano. His production when healthy is worth the Ks. But if it’s “hollow numbers” and poor in the playoffs, people will sour more.
Because it’s Twins type move. I think people want a proven Ace like Mad Bum or Scherzer, both have better WHIP & K rate. Mad Bum is only a year older than Stroman. They are the sexy move that the Twins never make. It’s like hoping to win the Powerball in this sports town with this franchise but we can still hope.
Oh god i hope FO is smarter than that. May is Joe Nathan with less command. Less stuff. And well, he’s just not very good. Maybe the staff will “fix” him but he’s been in the league a long time. We need a better closer option than May lol
They’re not a problem. One AB doesn’t make a problem. Reference his career line compared to Adam Dunns at similar point. And Sano plays much better D. What will be a prob is if he can’t hit pitching in close and late and high leverage situations. I’d like to see some numbers on that. He’s definitely not Big Papi but I wonder if he’s at least ok. He’s also 26 years old.
I know our team are beasts against fastballs but I’ve noticed more than a couple games we take some really bad swings against the junk ball pitchers that top out in the high 80s
As of this point I trust Odorizzi & Berrios in October, but not Kyle “Braniac” Gibson, Perez, or anyone else. We got plenty of prospects let’s get an ace.
