Redmond got screwed over. It's not surprising though. Jeff Loria is a d-bag owner. I think he believes he is a genious based upon his 2003 firing of Jeff Torborg and hiring Jack McKeon and winning the world series that season. Their offseason pick-ups were overrated. Latos is coming off an injury riddled year, Haren does not have the stuff he did in his prime. Dee Gordon has worked out - but he will come back to Earth. Not to say that Dee Gordon is not a valuable baseball player. Stanton's contract got Redmond fired. I don't know how Loria became a billionaire, because they way he operates his baseball club is laughable. The way he runs that team = living in a cardboard box on skid row. I always liked Red-Dog, and if he finds the right spot, he could be in the same category as Joe Girardi. I don't know if the Twins are a great fit for him, there are probably better fits for him elsewhere, but hell, I'd be more than elated if the Twins offered him an Assistant to the GM position/Minor League Roving Instructor - something of that nature. Red-Dog will manage in the majors again. If I were a hot shot managing candidate or a free agent baseball player, I would never consider signing on to be a member of the Miami Marlins. Never.
