  1. That's why I chose to listen to the Pirates broadcast.
  2. I chose to listen to the Pirates broadcast.
  3. And Liriano stays at 1-7 for the season. Ouch.
  4. That's where Butera earns his paycheck. The jog between the plate and the mound.
  5. If a pitcher drives in a pitcher and no one is watching, does the run count?
  6. Facing the Pirates helps a bit. Still, he's throwing a gem through 5+ so far.
  7. An empty .500 OPS. If that's even possible.
  8. You know, I'm not sure. I haven't used this software in over six years so it's basically like learning it from scratch again. I'll look into it but I'd think that it has to offer that service. Back in the day, we used to have 200+ posts in almost every game thread at BYTO. My goal is to get back to those kinds of numbers here at TD. Of course, the Twins looking more Bad News Bears than '27 Yankees makes it an uphill battle but I think it's an achievable goal.
  9. We're just trying out some new ideas. The concept is to get the game thread and articles seen by as many eyes as possible. After the game is over, the thread will be archived in the game thread forum. TD usually has 4-8x as many people looking at the minor league and Twins forums as it does the article and game thread forums so hopefully, we'll get more lively discussion all around.
  10. We all know the Pirates offense is inept but Liriano is looking pretty good out there tonight.
  11. We should have a Quality AB comparison of Butera, Liriano, and Bedard.
  12. Agreed. Coming off TJ, I'd rather see the kid stay in the minors and face the inevitable post-TJ surgery woes away from pitching-starved Minnesota fans. Given JR's track record, he'll probably be brought along slowly.
  13. It's a little frustrating to see the Twins put two pitchers at the back of the lineup in tonight's game. Add in Morneau against a lefty and 1/3 of this lineup is entirely useless.
  14. Butera struck out. Didn't see that coming.
  15. I hate watching 3-and-done playoff series but I hate not making the playoffs more. JR was a mixed bag this offseason but overall, he did a pretty good job. The Capps signing was groan-worthy and the Carroll signing was meh. 38 year old MI don't impress me much, particularly when signed to multi-year deals. But he did a fantastic job with Burton, Willingham, and Doumit. Overall, he gets at least a B, probably a B+.
  16. Had trouble getting my proxy server working and missed the first half of the inning. Who scored?
  17. Along with the bad Bedard. He has been lit up in two of his last three starts so there's hope for that.
  18. We'll see if these lineups are correct (found a new source): Twins Span CF Revere RF Willingham LF Morneau 1B Plouffe 3B Dozier SS Carroll 2B Butera C (Liriano P) Pirates Tabata LF Harrison RF McCutchen CF McGehee 1B Walker 2B Alvarez 3B Barmes SS McKenry C (Bedard P)
  19. I definitely agree, I merely wonder whether it's better to punt 2013 and push for 2014 when the next wave of prospects starts to arrive. If I was the Twins FO, I'd be looking long and hard at the FA pitching market in 2013 and 2014 and figuring out which has more potential for success.
