Who would you play?

Not giving up on Valencia. I just look for a non-true platoon to see if Burroughs can hit against some righties. It is interesting to see these lineups with Plouffe and Hughes both in against Weaver. Either they shouldn't change the lineup at all or they should just make it lefty heavy. Split stats should be appreciated.

I'm not giving up on Velencia either. I just want 15 thousand alarm clocks strapped to his head that go off at the same time.

Shake things up a little. Remind Valencia, Doumit, Carroll, and Casilla that if they don't perform, there are other guys waiting to take their spot. Remind Span that we have other guys that can man CF if he can't keep Pujols from going first to third. If we had a third catcher, I'd sit Mauer too, but Doumit has looked even worse at the plate

That is the last thing I would do. How about picking a line-up and then sticking with it for a week or two? No matter how bad someone does one day, he goes back out the next day (Gardy has no problem doing that with relievers, as he's demonstrated time and again). Let the guys play together and get comfortable.

You want to shake things up? Get rid of Gardenhire. Once again he has headed north with a team that doesn't appear ready to play. We might not have started 0-4 before, but the Twins have not had a good start in years.

This is like trying to win at poker when you don't get to have any aces or face cards. No matter how much you shuffle it, the deck is stacked against you.

It comes down to performance on the field. Span, Mauer and Morneau have got to start performing at their potential. I don't expect them to stay cold all season, but so far the top three guys have not been finding many baseballs with their bats. In fact, the whole lineup has been making the other team's pitchers look like nothing but aces. Hey, poker again!

Two right-handed bats against Weaver. I have nothing against Carroll batting second, but Mauer was born to bat second, obviously.

Who was the last Twin to bat second that wasn't the shortstop or second baseman?

You don't "shake things up" 4 games into the season and throw out the panic signal.

Concur.

If you want to get an extra LH bat or two in the lineup, fine. But not to "shake things up."

Revere (LF) 6 games ago. (Game 161 of 2011 season).

Haha, Revere got cut off there.

Span, CF

Mauer, C

Morneau, DH

Willingham, RIGHT FIELD

Parmelee, 1B

Burroughs, 3B

Carroll, SS

Casilla, 2B

Revere, LF

Did you mean to say that Revere failed to hit the cut off man?

Gardy almost certainly will stick with Valencia today, because he is 2-9 lifetime against Weaver with both hits being home runs

Amen Elmo, I mean Jimbo, Nobody was complaining that Gardy didn't have the team ready to play in March, in fact they looked pretty damn good to me. It's about execution, the manager can't bat and can't field, he's put in three different lineups with the same results. THE PLAYERS HAVE TO GET IT DONE.

It's been 4 games people, C'MON!
