C-Gangster Verified Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 The twins have been known for trading a way players for pitchers. So should we do it again here in the trade deadline? In my opinion yes! we could use another pitcher or bullpen guy. My trade target is Taj Bradley we could maybe make this trade. I was thinking We could give away Christan Vasquez(C) Aaron Sabato and Yunior Sevirino(3B) to tampa bay for Taj Bradley(SP) and Logan Driscoll (C) .In my opinion that would be a fair trade because we would give jeffers more play time. We would get another prospect and the rays would get a decent catcher and some good prospects. We would also get another pitcher and Save some of our money!
jaimedude Verified Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Nobody is taking on Vazquez salary without Twins eating significant portion. Sabato has limited value as a prospect. Doubt Tampa would consider this even.
bowserthedog Verified Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Personally i wouldn't give up all kinds of prospects for a pitcher. What would it take to trade for a starting pitcher who's obviously a better option in the playoffs than Ober? We also aren't going to have money to pay this pitcher next year so trading for a pitcher with term is kind out of the picture. Alternatively, i would look at trading Kepler for prospects because he won't be back and we have such a wealth of outfielders who are ready now and ready later. Trade for two good relief pitchers. One right and one left.... or two left!
jctwins Verified Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Should they? yes Can they? not necessarily, tight market Will they? not likely, other than may a scrap heap bullpen guy as a rental in exchange for a AA level prospect.
cmoss84 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Yes. His name is Jake Irvin. Something like Severino, Schobel, and Festa.
Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Sellers market. Big spenders like the Dodgers, Yankees and Phillies looking for pitching help. Not seeing how the Twins make a deal.
Azviking101 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 Yes I think they should, but they should have done that before the season started. There’s a few guys available that would slot well into the rotation and there are a lot of teams interested. I don’t see teams making a deal with the twins when the twins are the only team asking for salary relief in a potential deal.
strumdatjag Verified Member Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 (edited) As late as a month ago, I thought the Twins could stand pat and use internal options. However, it’s become clear that the Twins need left-handed pitching. A lefty starter would be nice, but one in the pen is essential. Maybe Okert and/ir Thielbar can be productive for the rest of this year, but MAYBE ain’t good enough. Funderburk is banged up. I don’t see any immediate help in the farm system. So, an addition via trade is necessary. Edited July 29, 2024 by strumdatjag
