Okay, threaders ... guess the only ones listening today will be those with the MLB package as I don't think it's on the radio locally ... not that I saw, did I get that wrong?

Anyway, the team makes the 2.5-3 hr drive to West Palm Beach on Florida's other coast (I like the west coast side better) to play the Nats. I just looked up their ST facilities ... it looks pretty nice. One day (i.e. in my retirement) I'll make the trek to all the other ST complexes to compare and rate. For now, I'll just say we have the best. (Oh, okay, I have been to Jet Blue ... the parking situation there is awful, so it dampens any positive position I might have on the place.)

Anyway ... I'm going to get this up, then head off to work, where I'll be working alone, so I can have the game playing in the background. Yay for lone work days! (Boo for having an extra project to do and working on Sunday!) Can't win them all, I guess ... in life as well as baseball. Okay ... onward ...

It's a 'cool' 70 degress in West Palm, with a slight possibility of rain (only 15%), mostly/partly cloudy, and ... windy!! Says the winds are up around 25mph from the ENE. Not being familiar with the stadium there, not sure how that will affect the game ... either lots of homerums or no homeruns? :)

Play ball!

0-0 after 1. Only hit in the 1st was by Rosario; Nats went down in order. Top of the 2nd, down in order; bottom 2nd coming up.

Nice first inning from Santiago- 3 batters faced, a groundout and two K's.  I don't have high hopes for him, but man would I like to be wrong.

Looks like Santiago had a nice outing against major league hitters. I like lefties and hope he is effective this year. There is no reason why he shouldn't be, especially if he is a flyball pitcher with an outfield of Kepler, Buxton, and Rosario.

Santiago struck out 5 in 2.2 innings of work? Let me see, 2.2 into 9, carry the 5,  divide by 3.141, carry the 12...Sign him! 20 strikeouts per game, baby!! (oh wait, we're only 1/3 of the way through Spring Training? Contract extension, then baby!!)

He got into a bit of trouble in the 2nd, but worked out of it without score. That's nice to see. I'd rather there never be 'trouble,' but unless you are an ace of an ace, you are going to give up hits and walks, so it's nice when pitchers can work out of it with minimal damage. And in this case, no score.

Oh ... and I'll add ... Santiago very likely could have given up a 3-run HR in the 2nd, but thank the wind for pushing it foul.

And the Twins are on the board ... up 1-0 in the top of the 6th.

On 2 outs ... Vargas walked , Paulsen doubled scoring Vargas from 1st.

Spring training: when baseball has line changes like football.

We got another lead while i was frustrated with gameday catching up with the usual line change.

I guess that's good!
