  1. De Leon face the Twins tomorrow btw
  2. Meanwhile, the Twins haven't developed a useful starting pitcher since Liriano
  3. Yeah but why say stuff like this: "I love Sborz, but the Dodgers didn’t think all that much of him," Knapp said.
  4. Why are the Twins new FO using the press so much? I'm a Dodger fan and I don't ever remember trade talks being as public as Dozier's with Freidman/Zaidi around. Then there's the latest Beradino article where the roving pitching coordinator says Bellinger/De Leon for Dozier would've been a fair deal. What is the point of that?
  5. the Dodgers have a playoff roster w/o Dozier, you guys. I want Dozier, but it's is not like a controversial take that they're one of the best teams in the NL right now.
  6. The other problem is that there is no need to make a desperation move this late into the off-season. The deadline to make a trade is still 6 months away.
  7. Dozier has always been a luxury to the Dodgers. They have an above average position players at C, SS, CF, 1B, 3B, RF (just on Puig's defense at least) to go along with a high end and deep pitching staff. They just need someone to be close to Utley's production of last year. On the other hand, the Twins haven't had a worth wild young SP make a difference in a decade+. Their desperation for good young SP had been well documented. I don't think they're are panicking, but they can't keep running out 90+ loss seasons w/ a relatively new ballpark.
  8. Looks like this trade dead. Thank you for a hospitality, Twins fans. Looking forward to following Hunter Greene's progress if you guys take him. About 10 years apart, but I went to Notre Dame HS, as well.
  9. If the front office would've subscribed to this line of thinking, Corey Seager would be on the Phillies right now.
  10. Dodgers/Lakers insider guy (he broke the Justin Turner/Kenley signings) Chris Camello ‏@Chris_Camello Sources: There has been some movement between #Dodgers and #Twins in regards to Dozier. Not sure what that means but next 24-48 hrs are big Chris Camello ‏@Chris_Camello I'm not saying that a trade is automatically going to happen the next 2 days but #Dodgers appear to be making some progress
  11. The fact that the Twins haven't walked away yet, despite not receiving the offers they want, proves that to kinda want to trade him. I mean, they've been "talking" to teams for 2 months now.
  12. Dodgers signed Jose Miguel Fernandez, a 2B Cuban FA. Minor league deal, though.
  13. You mean the type of pitchers the Twins should be targeting as a 2nd piece has nothing to do with Dozier's value?
  14. Cotton is young and cheap, so hypothetically speaking, we are talking about future Twins rotations
  15. TyTy is right. Even throw away prospects like Jharel Cotton (used in the Rich Hill/Reddick trade) pitched 40ish innings like a mid rotation arm for Oakland in the bigs. Cotton, who had certain s of his own as a prospect, would probably be the Twins 3rd best SP behind Santana and maybe Berrios.
  16. It's tough to judge Alvarez at this stage. At this time next year he could be one of the top 10 prospects in baseball. But yeah, that's a great return for Minnesota.
  17. And that's my point. Not trying to be a dick, but no team is trading elite prospects for 2 years of Dozier. Those are reserved for Chris Sale types. Yoy can try to find a sucker like Arizona and get a Dasnby Swanson, but that's unlikely.
  18. Very doubtful you get a "star" for Dozier, just being realistic.
  19. Randy Johnson first full season: 25Danny Salazar first 120+ IP season: 25 Roy Halladay first 130+ IP season: 25 Cliff Lee first full season: 25, first good season came a year later JA Happ first full season: 26 Orel Hershiser first full season: 25 Should I continue?
  20. Jacob deGrom's rookie of the year season age: 26Adam Wainwright's first full season age: 25 Corey Kluber's first full season age: 27 Carlos Carrasco's first 120+ IP season age: 27 Kyle Hendricks' first full season age: 25 Tanner Roarks' first full season age: 27 Curt Schilling's first full season age: 26 Should I continue?
  21. This thread is just repeating itself now. Both teams need a resolution for their fanbases' sanity, hopefully this weekend.
  22. http://www.minorleagueball.com A new Dodgers top 20 list
  23. The Braves would rather have Brandon Phillips than Brian Dozier
  24. fWAR doesn't account for pitch framing in which Grandal is elite in. WAR is also a counting stat. The reason Dozier has a slightly higher WAR than Turner over the last year or 3 years is because he's had more ABs. I guess being durable is a skill to a degree but it does not make him better. Turner wasn't even a full time starter 3 years ago and he's still only a run behind over that time period. And again, WAR isn't the end all be all.
  25. WAR is simply not everything. If we are including pitchers, Dozier would be the 5th or 6th most important Dodgers player behind Kershaw, Jansen, Turner, Seager, and possibility Grandal
