daveha's Achievements

  1. Here's what Chelsea James, The Nationals' beat reporter, said Nats sending lefty Tyler Watson, lefty from Hagerstown, to Minnesota. Was 6-4 with a 4.35 this year, but rising fast.
  2. Thanks for the link. Mauer also said, "He just always seems to be the right guy in the right spot." And "When the situation comes up and we need something, he always delivers."
  3. I assume Fister was traded for the same reason they traded Prince: money. Fister came out of Spring Training with minor arm issues but has absolutely dominated National League teams.
  4. Don't be concerned by how few base runners he threw out last year. I live in the DC Metropolitan area and saw a number of games, heard many more. Any fan or any announcer will tell you the Nats' pitchers were horrible at holding runners close to the bag.
  5. Speaking of being off-topic, Jim Duquette was interviewed on 106.7 here in Washington, DC this morning. He was asked about a replacement for Davey Johnson who is in his last year as manager of the Nationals. He said the best three veteran managers--what he felt the Nationals needed--who might be available at the end of the year were Mike Scioscia, Bud Black, and [you guessed it] Gardy. He raved about Gardy and Scioscia in particular.
  6. They better hurry. Adam Laroche wants a three-year contract and it appears the Washington Nationals are standing firm at two.
  7. Sorry, I just don't get it. It seems as if the better Morneau performs, the hotter he is, the more eager most are to dump him. Mauer, Willingham, Morneau...don't get it.
  8. Given the caliber of the founders, I expected a great site. I was not disappointed. Must reading.
  9. And adding insult to injury, who should be pitching tonight but the man guaranteed to end a modest four-game winning streak.
  10. I don't know about anyone else but if even Christensen is boxing the Twins' ears over selling on the cheap, is it possible that TR could not get value commensurate with any of the players we all thought might get dealt and actually stepped back?
  11. It's as if Ryan just wants to GET PAST THIS SEASON [after suffering an equally bad one last year]. If he drops some more salary, who cares if he trades what few assets the Twins have for next to nothing? [The trick was always to package Liriano with Span.] Now I'm getting cold sweats thinking about what new plots TR is about to hatch. Span for Fidel Castro's driver? Willingham for Marta? Morneau for Ricky Ricardo?
  12. Oh, great. Since we are trailing the White Sox by 314 games this year, this trade can only hurt us next year when, thanks to these brilliant acquisitions, we obviously become the odds-on favorite to win the division. This makes the Garza and Santana trades look like strokes of genius by comparison. Storm the castle!
