  1. With a bad year, we all know that some moves need to be made for next year. My view on Ryan's current lineup have always been poor at best but I bought in on the "rebuilding" idea. Problems with the Big 3. We have all read and understand the bad contracts of Hughes, Santana, and Nolasco. No need to keep talking about it. 25 man moves. Jepsen Park Duffey Big names that should be out of the lineup for bad play so far. (Duffey needs to go to the pen if he can't pick up another pitch) Sano will be coming back and it seems best for everyone to see Park go to AAA and work on hitting a high fastball. Jepsen should be cut at this point. Chargois needs to be given a true shot along with a healthy Meyer. Wheeler needs a shot in the meantime, he is a soft tossing lefty but I think he has proven this year that he deserves a look. Rosario might be a better option as a #4 OF. 40 man roster. Protecting: Landa, Melotakis, and Randy Rosario this offseason might have been poor moves when non of them are remotely close to big league play. Mastroinni is a waist of a spot that could be taken by anyone at this point. Logan Schafer should have his spot if anything. Adding to the 40 man. Beresford has proven he should get a shot, gonsalves, Reginatto, Hildenberger, Palka, Granite are on the border that should be playing in AAA soon. Burdi can't stay healthy but when he is, it should be sink or swim time. If some trades happen, talking Plouffe/ Nunez, I might be time to see what we have in Vargas at DH.
  2. If players perform close to their potential I don't see us needing another platoon type of player next year. And the help from a steady bat with old clubhouse presence might help. With Vargas and Arcia hurting at the bigs this year, a DH/1B might be needed. Next year. (1) Hicks/ Buxton LF/CF (2) Dozier 2B (3) Mauer 1B (4) Sano 3B (5) DH (6) Rosario RF (7) Hicks/ Buxton LF/CF (8) Sazuki C (9) Santana SS Bench Polonco. Kepler. Hermann/ Pinto or a better back up. Escobar. If you think other changes will happen for 2016 feel free to post what you like, want, or wish.
  3. If a trade happens and Plouffe is moved, would it be a bad idea to bring back Morneau. (That is if he is healthy) I only ask because I use to love what he brought to the team. I understand he is not the same player but maybe the M&M boys will bring Mauer back to life. Good against right handed pitching and when it is a lefty we can bring in some young blood.
  4. I agree that it is great to see us drafting hard throwing kids. Also don't get me wrong, Ryan is doing a good job on the other side of the ball with young talent. I am just sad to see the big money in, average at best, arms. I would have rather seen us go after an ace and fail, rather than big money with 4-5 number starters and OK at best guys in the pen.
  5. Let me start out with the "bad"..... Ervin Santana and the money we gave him(really?) Tim Stauffer, Kevin Correia, Mike Pelfrey, Ricky Nolasco, Matt Capps, Vance Worley, and I'm sure I am missing more. Now for the "good"We can probably give a tip of the cap for Phil Hughes, Tommy Milone, Blaine Boyer Casey Fien, Jared Burton Sam Deduno as they are all ok pickups or have given us some good outings. I also probably missed a few names in this category. Now I have to ask, is Ryan blind with pitching scouting, is he set on pitchers that resemble him( low K/9 innings) or is it our coaches? Year after year it is getting hard to watch the pitching crew they put together.
  6. Why did the twins not put up a few of our starting pitchers in a trade? With 7 SP, I would think we would have been willing to try and make room on our rotation and also cap space. Big deals for average, and no room for our up and coming, I still do not understand this move, or lack thereof.
