  1. Agreed. Santana definitely needs to show something of value this year, but remember he's had to deal with his mother's health issues the past 2 seasons. You can't completely ignore the role that may have played (and could continue to play) with his performance on the field. Santana shows flashes of what excited everyone in 2014 and can play 6 positions. He's absolutely has enough upside to warrant some early season PT and not running the risk another team will claim him off waivers.
  2. Good chance he would have finished the 6th for a quality start without the 90 pitch limit they had him on. Some quality innings and didn't walk a batter after walking/hitting 3 of the first 5 he faced.
  3. Haley MLB debut for the 9th here? Or get Breslow or Tonkin in for an inning?
  4. Another nice 7th inning to get the bullpen a cushion today.
  5. Good to see a Twins pitcher come out with a quick, no nonsense inning after getting a lead. Santiago looking good since the walk to Perez to start the 2nd.
  6. Escobar has seen Kennedy and had some success against him (6-14, 1 HR, 1 BB, 4 K). I can understand why he gets this start today if you want to get him in once the first series especially since I think he's struggled in the few times he's seen Thursday's starter Hammel.
  7. Castro calling for anything but a fastball to Moose and Santana shakes him off before serving up the dinger.
  8. Grossman 0-2, 2 Ks. Queue the impatient calls for Park.
  9. The only question I have is with Castro hitting 6. Poor numbers vs. LHP and Duffy is tough against LH. Seems like 8 would be a better spot for him today.
  10. That's a big assumption with so many off days early in the season. Plus, playing in AL Central cities in April comes with a high likelihood of some rain outs that increase the chance of skipping the #5 starter a time or 2.
  11. I'm seeing a lot of cynicism after the 25-man roster has been set, so it'll be interesting to see what people predict for April. Having an early season schedule heavy with AL Central teams should only help since the division is pretty weak with the Royals down, White Sox rebuilding, and Tigers a big question mark for me. I say the club stays right around .500 in the 12-14 win range.
  12. Nice poised AB there for Kepler!
  13. Interesting to see if Randy Bush, currently assistant GM with the Cubs, gets any attention/speculation based on working under Theo Epstein and being an ex-Twin.
