1. Aaron and John return to 612 Brew and are joined by a couple guests: Parker Hageman of Twins Daily and 612 Brew's head brewer Adam Schill. Together, they dissect a ridiculously short week for the Twins, Big Papi's speech, wonder from whom will Oswaldo Arcia take playing time, explain why you should subscribe to Minnesota Business magazine, catch up with some top Twins prospects with hot starts, explain what happened after the last podcast, review the Darin Mastroianni injury saga, and review Dick Bremer's and Bert Blyleven's discussion on cybermetrics. Here are: the podcasts the rss feed if you want to subscribe and the podcast on iTunes. Or click below to listen.

3. The age thing is interesting. i guess my take is that we wait to see if Florimon boots himself out of his job. He just needs to get more consistent defensively. And we'll know a lot more about each offensively in two months, when teams have dissected them a little.
4. I couldn't agree more on the "3 days without baseball in April" thing. It was killing me last night. It's bad enough around the All-Star break, but at least you can watch the All-Star game. But to not play that game last night just because it was a little chilly? I'd love to get the inside story about that. I think the Sox were screwing with the Twins (or just really, really desperate to get a few more thousand fans in walkup sales this year.)
5. Found this interesting.... Someone can Johan on the phone!
6. First, it was a great game. There was lots to watch and appreciate. Have I missed something? Is Vavra being criticized for his third base coaching lately? I've noticed a couple of times where I thought he might have been a little conservative, but I haven't noticed much criticism. Am I just not following the right (wrong?) people on Twitter? :-)
7. Over t the Hardball Times, Chris Jaffe makes a list of which pitcher most "owned" each team. Against the Twins it was David Wells. I would've guessed the second guy on the list. Also, the good news is that on Twins pitcher made the list, though ill be surprised if anyone guesses who. Got the whammy, AL teams

9. Aaron and John's Minnesota Twins podcast visits a bar for sale. Then they talk about Aaron Hicks historic struggles, their move to KFAN, what went right for the Twins this week, conficting explanations for how the Twins ended up with a low-K pitching staff, Oswaldo Arcia's role this week, what makes Aaron curl into the fetal position, misperceptions about the infield, batting practice misfires, charging the mound and #42. 12. I think that's the most probable scenario. Also, I wouldn't blame them for not wanting him to be learning a new position when he's trying to adjust to big league pitching. But I still hope they think out of the box a little on this one. If he can play center field - and that's a fairly easy thing to find out - then I'd love to give him a trial there at this level. Otherwise, his path is blocked barring trade or injury.
13. On the one hand, this feels a lot like rushing him through AAA, the same way the have Hicks and Hendricks and Dozier and Revere and .... On the other, Arcia has never really stumbled. And I love the message it sends - those that are doing well will get their shot. And, candidly, I'm just excited to see the kid live. I'd be especially excited if they gave him some time in CF.
14. Its one thing to struggle. What Hicks is doing is on a whole other level. It might be several levels beyond struggling. He could hit three times as much AND cut his strikeout rate down to 1/3 of what it is - and THEN he would be as good as Butera. That doesn't mean he won't be good someday, but sooner or later you have to ask yourself: 1) what evidence is there that he was not promoted too early? 2) how much more evidence do you need to believe he was promoted too early?
15. Just got this email. I heard similar things last night. The makeup date for any cancelled games might need to be a sungle day in August. Thus, the motivation to make these work:
16. Paul Molitor, who is heading to Fort Myers on Saturday, talked a little today at the fundraiser about some minor leaguers. Just a couple quick reactions.... 1. He mentioned he was going to see "3 infield prospects" at Fort Myers - Miguel Sano, Eddie Rosario and..... Levi Michael. I was a little surprised it wasn't Kennys Vargas. Is Michael playing shortstop or second base? If 2B, how are they juggling him and Rosario? 2. He didn't seem very optimistic about Sano staying at 3B. Hinted this is a make or break year defensively for him. 3. Went out of his way to talk about Byron Buxton. He really likes Buxton. He thinks the Twins may have really underestimated just how ready he might be. Like I said, nothing ground-breaking, but interesting to hear his thoughts....

18. How about a friendly game of "I know more than you about baseball"? Our friends at DraftStreet have put together a contest for Twins Daily readers that costs nothing to play BUT will distribute $300 in prizes to our readers. Here's the link. And here's the deal.... [PRBREAK][/PRBREAK] Remember all the hubbub a couple years ago about a nasty piece of legislation that made it tough (maybe even impossible) to gamble with a credit card over the internet in the US? Turns out it ALSO made fantasy sports legal - and if you think that sounds like a rather large loophole, you're right. Immediately, companies like DraftStreet sprung up which turn the season long grind into quick one night leagues. You draft a team for one night and get paid out as soon as the games end that night. DraftStreet.com is at the forefront of this new trend in the fantasy world and is promoting it by giving us a FREE one-day fantasy league with $300 in prizes. Again, just click here now to sign up. I just signed up - and there's nothing nasty like asking for a credit card. Give them your age, state and pick a password. The game is also pretty easy. Our contest will be Pick 'em style drafting. The way Pick 'Em leagues work is you have 8 tiers of players and each tier will have players to choose from. All you have to do is select 1 player from each tier. You even have your choice of several Twins (or Mets, who face the Twins) that night. It really is simple. If the weather changes, you can also adjust your roster up until the contest starts on Friday April 12th at 7:05 ET. At that time your rosters will lock - but then the Live Scoreboard will be available. The Twins Daily guys will be trying it too, so even if you're not one of our readers that wins their share of $300, you'll get some bragging rights. Unless, of course, you lose to us. In which case you will never hear the end of it. Last chance to try it. CLICK HERE to sign up for free and join the Twins Daily $300 Freeroll on DraftStreet.com. What have you got to lose, other than a little personal pride when Seth beats you down? Also, feel free to talk a little smack below, or share your thoughts.
19. Seems like there should be a thread on this, seeing as everyone is talking about it. 20 AB, hitting .500 with a double, triple & 2 home runs. My initial thoughts..... 1) I'll be really interested to see how this year develops. Could we be crabbing about him ONLY being at Low A as a 19 yo? 2) For those looking ahead to the June drft, and hoping the Twins get a pitcher even if there is a higher-upside toolsy high school outfielder avilable - does this give you any pause?

21. Aaron and John talk about the Minnesota Twins' winning opening week, bouncing back from last week's podcast, what to make of Aaron Hicks' slow start, Glen Perkins' excellence and managing the bullpen, appreciating Roger Ebert, the upcoming "Tix For Tots" event, close games and late-inning heroics, Tyler Robertson's goodbye, and "The Running Man" coming true. Here are: the podcasts the rss feed if you want to subscribe and the podcast on iTunes. Or click on the link below...

23. I had no idea (or had completely forgotten) that Ricky Bones was ever in the Twins organization. Or that he is now a pitching coach. Thanks for this.
