  1. Batting fourth and sixth...Vargas walked to load the bases, Ortiz struck out, Santana singled driving in two.
  2. My first autograph (when he was a San Francisco Seal)...Gene Woodling.
  3. I believe, with the exception of players being plugged in as they're sent down by the Twins, (i.e., Sano, Berrios, Kepler, etc.), these are 2014 rosters.
  4. A well written article and high praise, indeed. Thank you, JB_Iowa, for sharing this. If I might amend one thing...On that day in 2007, when Tim Shibuya walked on at UCSD, the skiing was put on the back burner and the skis went in the closet. The quote should read, "...who skied 50 to 60 days a year during the offseason..." (High school years)
  5. Disclaimer: Unabashed Tim Shibuya fan; no attempt at critical thinking or impartiality. Good show fellows, thanks for what you do. Everything you said about Tim Shibuya is true. He is all those things and more. I did detect a little stumbling around about a couple of things, though. 1. (You were right, Seth) Tim graduated from the Univ. of Calif.-San Diego (UCSD), Division 2, not to be confused, but often is, with Univ. of San Diego (USD) and San Diego State (CSUSD), both D 1. 2. After surgery to remove a bone spur from his shoulder (Oct. 2012) and rehab/ST/EST in Fort Myers (Jan./ June 2013) he did VERY well in Elizabethton and Cedar Rapids. In fact, he was the TOPPS Player of the Month for the Midwest League for August (Buxton received the same recognition for the Florida State League) and Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the last week of August /first week of Sept. 3. Knitting (Right on, Jeremy) Wyoming winters=Tim knows wool hats! This is something, I suspect, the Latin players and the guys from the South appreciated during Beloit’s Spring. There was a cute article in the StarTribune in 2012 about this topic. It says more, though, about this group of kids going through the Twins’ system than it does about the knitting. http://www.startribune.com/printarticle/?id=161302965 I suspect (know) the knitting equipment is stored away in Wyoming while he’s in Florida. Thanks, Guys!
  6. In a spot start situation for the Miracle, i'm not sure much more than "just four innings" was being asked of Tim Shibuya. He and the rest of the bullpen were being asked to give the team a chance to win, and they did just that. 3 runs (2 earned), 7 hits, 1 walk, 7 strikeouts...not too shabby. In addition, I believe you mixed up the Lakeland starter's line with Tim Shibuya's.
