  1. I'm right there beside you on the Nola bandwagon, and a 2015 timetable isn't out of the question considering the guy he is compared to, Mike Leake, made a direct jump. It's not sexy but I would not be the least bit disappointed getting a better version of Mike Leake at number 5.
  2. I generally give the front office the benefit of the doubt but they've made a few questionable moves early this season, even if they are minor in the grand scheme of things. I thought Arcias flare up occurred once but I could be mistaken. He certainly hasn't shown it to be a problem at the plate. Your explanation still leaves questions. For example, why is he continuing to play if his wrist is still a problem and why the need to option him? They could have shut him down and began rehab when he was fully healthy.
  3. Good to see May is on a roll. Seems like the type of guy who will have better results in the MLB. I think May should get the first nod considering his time spent at the higher levels but it should be mentioned, it was only a couple weeks ago everyone wanted Meyer promoted immediately. It will be interesting to see how the Twins handle this situation if May continues to excel while KC and Pelf continue being terrible. While on the subject, Arica being optioned looks to be another example of questionable roster moves this season. He really did not have much to prove in the minors and though he struggled in the first week of the season he can be one of the lineups better hitters. The hot starts for Kubel and Colabello appear to be mirages and I am ready to throw in the towel on either one.
  4. Seems Gordon is the consensus pick. There was a similar consensus with Stewart last year but I guess the wild card here is who is pick in the first four spots. On another note, Rondon goes to NCST not Stanford.
  5. If the Twins go with pitching, I like Nola since Rodon and Aiken likely will not be there at #5. I get the sense a lot of people get scared off by the words: safe, low-to-mid 90's and control. He may not be the pitcher with the greatest velocity but there is no denying his dominance in college. He has three good pitches that he can control, pitches deep into games while maintaining velocity (7.1 per start and 2 CG), and has been consistent. There is a lot to like. I would be just fine with either Jackson or Gordon. Cannot have enough athletic up the middle players or power hitters.
  6. You could make that statement about most players drafted in the first round in any draft. There are always going to be players drafted in later rounds that will leave people wondering why they fell so far. As for Revere, there were some who bashed that pick at the time as being cheap but it actually pretty solid considering it was late in the first. Only 7 players picked before him have accumulated a higher WAR (a low bar considering Revere's career WAR) as Revere and some never reached the big leagues.
  7. Pass. The Cubs would likely want too much in return and quite frankly he is not worth it. Sure, he has good K numbers but that is offset by putting too many men on base. He seems to be a pitcher similar to Matt Garza, good but not great and certainly not worth breaking the bank in terms of dollars or prospects.
  8. Currently Joe Mauer is my favorite but I am warming up to Dozier. Pepperoni and Sausage is my favorite.
