Jason Repko is playing CF for the Red Sox today....
-
On a positive note, Liam seems to be handling this line up pretty well. If you throw out Liriano's stats, the starting pitching hasn't been that bad.
-
If it makes you feel better, I say go for it. The sun is out here in southern MN.

Snarky is a nice word to use for the comments that I read this morning at the Strib.com site. I actually didn't comment on any of the articles. I really don't know what to say and don't want to be overly negative. I was at the game on Thurs. afternoon with my son. It was such a beautiful day, we had great seats, and Liriano just bombed...we were down, but then Joe hit the three run homer and things just started rolling. It ended up being a very enjoyable game and we certainly had a good time. I get sick of these armchair GM wannabes who KNOW EVERYTHING and want Gardy and his staff fired and assert that Terry Ryan knows nothing about baseball. It just rubs me wrong. Yeah, we get frustrated (okay, we get REALLY TICKED) with our guys when they leave all those men on base, but it's not like they are doing it on purpose. They are doing the best they can in that moment. Sure, we'd like the Twins to win every game, make the playoffs every year, never lose to the Yankees, and win the World Series every five years or so, BUT that is not realistic. I love the Twins and this year I just want them to do better than they did last year. A .500 season would be a victory for me.

You need the MLB channel.

Span has been on fire.

They announced that Blackburn's shoulder stiffened up and he's day to day. Mr. Mauer NEEDs to earn his money here....
-
Twins are on FOX. They haven't said what's wrong with Blackburn. Announcers speculating his back.
-
I love Joe, but he is not living up to the 23 mil that they are paying him. Too many infield groundouts and double plays...he couldn't even hit a sac fly in this game. I get frustrated with him. I keep waiting for him to bust out and show us the .350 hitter that he was.

Who has the best burger in Twins Territory?
twinzgrl replied to Parker Hageman's topic in The Sports Bar
Ike's Roadhouse Steakburger and the guac made at your table with hot fresh chips--on Sixth St. near Target Center. Fabulous! -
Too many guys left on base. I was at the slugfest Thurs. and they left TONS of guys on that day too.

Here is Doumit's chance for a key hit....
-
They won't give Josh anything to drive...unless he makes a mistake.
-
I thought Ben was really exciting when he came up. Love his speed. Reminded me of Torii. Got sick of people always ragging about his arm strength. I guess I'm more "what have you done for me lately"? Lately, he doesn't seem to have much going offensively. Granted he doesn't have a lot of at bats...maybe it makes sense to send him down to get those AB's.
-
Carroll needs to move Span over....
-
Doumit has four singles on the year. I really thought he'd be a good hitter for us, and perhaps he will be....he looks a little lost in RF. Ben plays the OF with authority, but his hitting certainly needs improving. I am still confused as to the reasoning about Clete Thomas, but like you said, maybe TR knows something we don't.
-
Why do you think that they picked up Clete Thomas?
-
How can a man as big as Mauer hit so many balls that don't make it out of the infield?
-
Here's the meat...what can they do?
-
The Twins had their chance last inning, and Jamey Carroll did not come through...
-
Until Hamilton's blast....
-
The bats need to wake up here and not let this guy get in a groove.
-
Love the M and M's but they didn't earn their money tonight...maybe tomorrow.
-
The true fans are there tonight...I was there yesterday sitting in the sun in my T shirt and sunglasses...

Agree!! We finally have a home run hitter, and want that hand to be fully functional.
